🦷🪥Please don’t ignore routine dental cleanings with your pet! Even though their chompers may look clean to you, there is often underlying disease that you can’t see below the gum line! 🦠

Routine dental care not only helps to keep your pet’s breath fresh and their teeth clean, it also helps prevent damage and disease to their internal organs, like their liver, heart, and kidneys. ❤️

🛑 And please do not waste your money on non-anesthetic dental cleanings! 😖 These are usually not performed by a veterinarian, and they cannot assess for disease below the gum line because you cannot get proper dental x-rays or fully examine each tooth! These are truly dangerous practices and most veterinarians wish they would be banned!

Check it out! From 6 yr old Shih Tzu.
This dog had Non-Anesthetic Teeth Cleanings every 6 months since 1 year of age. Owner came to us (I worked at a veterinary dental specialty clinic) after seeing blood in food bowl. 18 teeth were abscessed. Owner was devastated because she thought she was doing what was best for her dog. This picture shows that the crown was clean but, the real problem was below the gumline. The danger of this type of cleaning is that the owner thinks the teeth are clean but, the infection is hidden. Cleaning below the gumline and dental X-rays can only be done under anesthesia. Education to pet owners is so important!

🐱NATIONAL KITTEN DAY🐱

Did you know that tomorrow is National Kitten Day?

We're celebrating early today by trying to help find homes for 6 (yes, you read that right, SIX) kittens. They're ADORABLE, but they're longing for their forever (indoor only) homes! All 6 are males, estimated to be about 10 weeks of age. Here is a little information about them:

- Already neutered
- Get along great with other cats
- Started their kitten vaccines
- Eating kibble
- Using their litter boxes
- Very playful

If you're interested in potentially adopting one (or two😉) of these sweethearts, you can call, text, or email us! We will connect you with the right person and can help answer any questions you may have! If you're not in the market for a cute and playful kitten, you can still help find their forever family by sharing this post with everyone you know!
