The almost yarn stage. The pindrafter is the in-between step where carded wool becomes ready for the spinning frame. This Romney wool is on its third pass through.

The Warner Swasey Pin Drafter-one of my favorite machines in the mill but the pindrafter and I have a complicated relationship. When it runs well, it’s magic. When it doesn’t… Thankfully, combed top is usually a pretty easy run, so today it was magic 💜
