Refurbished Pets of Southern Michigan Refurbished Pets of Southern Michigan is the first stray dog prison program in the state of Michigan.

All our dogs are in foster homes before they enter training for 10 weeks. After graduating with manners the dogs go to their forever homes. It is our guiding philosophy to improve our communities, making a positive impact by taking advanced measures against animals suffering to perish due to human negligence and illegal, wrongful actions. We are passionate and ethically committed to save and restore animals to their well-being state of existence, while encouraging adoption with hopes of dogs being saved will bring a healing and joyful atmosphere to families helping to promote a positive change. Our vision is not to predict the future but to help create it.

General Weekly Notes Regarding Progress on Training and Behavior:
FROM JUNO’S 1ST REPORT:

JUNO IS A FEMALE 10-MONTH-OLD PITBULL THAT WEIGHTS 60 LBS. JUNO WOULD LIKE A FENCE SO SHE CAN RUN AND PLAY UNTIL HER HEART IS CONTENT. JUNO GETS ALONG WITH OTHER DOGS AND KIDS. JUNO HAS NOT MET CATS BUT WOULD DO BEST IN A HOME WITH A CAT THAT IS DOG SAVVY, OR NO CAT AT ALL. JUNO ENTERED 10 WEEKS OF TRAINING ON OCT 16TH AND WILL BE READY TO COME HOME WITH HER FAMILY ON DEC 18TH. CLEO’S APPROVED ADOPTER WILL RECEIVE HER WEEKLY REPORTS.

We received Juno today with thanksgiving and since this team had her sister Cora, we noticed the similarities right off like how attentive she is and how loving she is. She is a doll and very obedient. Right now we are just letting her be a dog, sniffing and allowing her to get to know her surroundings. We walked a lap and allowed her to see who her fellow “pup mates” are as we started to do some pack walks. Juno seems to be adjusting very well; even now as we file this report she sleeping soundly  She even blessed us with her first p**p! Yay! Looks like she’s going to do just fine, we are also charging the mark with her name.

My wife and I first heard of RPSM from her Mother, who recommended we looked into it. After reading the mission and purpose of RPSM there was no doubt that we wanted to support an organization that not only cares so deeply for dogs, but also people. We applied to rescue Archie (now Archer) after reading his pet bio and seeing all of the amazing pictures that were posted of him. The application process was smooth for all things on the RPSM side, RPSM volunteers did a great job at guiding us through the application. We were not approved for Archer right away, but that was something we appreciated. RPSM took great care in finding the right fit for Archer, and we were elated when it was determined that we were the right fit! Receiving updates weekly about his progress was the highlight of our week, we grew to love Archer so much before we had ever met him. As we awaited adoption day we received amazing support from RPSM volunteers to be prepared, and that support only continues post-adoption. He surpasses all of our expectations. He is the sweetest, goofiest dog and his Trainers did an amazing job teaching him. You would be hard pressed to find a group of people who care about dogs more than the RPSM volunteers and the Trainers within the Correctional Facility. I truly could not have asked for a better experience.

Hi! Loki (formally known as Rusty) here and I hit the jackpot! My new mom and dad came to meet me and brought my brother Cyrus (who is an RPSM alumnus) and we all hit it off immediately. I am so lucky that I get to spend my days from here on out playing with my brother Cyrus and snuggling with my mom and dad. I'm so grateful for my family forever! Watch for updates!
