Refurbished Pets of Southern Michigan is the first stray dog prison program in the state of Michigan.

All our dogs are in foster homes before they enter training for 10 weeks. After graduating with manners the dogs go to their forever homes. It is our guiding philosophy to improve our communities, making a positive impact by taking advanced measures against animals suffering to perish due to human negligence and illegal, wrongful actions. We are passionate and ethically committed to save and rest

RPSM would like to thank the kind donor who donated a bag of Zuke’s treats and toy for the dogs in the training program! THANK YOU! Every 10 weeks, 14 (sometimes 15) dogs enter training to learn their manners! Toys are great for them to play with during down time and treats are a great reward when they perform commands correctly!

Every 10 weeks, RPSM goes through approx. 100 pounds of treats (140 to 154 bags of training treats) and 50-60 toys (approx. 300 or more a year) depending on the sturdiness of the toys!

If you are looking for an EASY way to help RPSM take care of the fur-kids in our program? Simply shop from our wish lists!! The lists are frequently updated. RPSM is currently in need of dog treats for the 14 dogs that enter training as they make a great reward when the dogs perform their commands correctly.

**UPDATE** JACE IS ON HOLD AS HE HAS AN APPROVED ADOPTER**

FROM JACE’S RECENT REPORT:

JACE IS A 2 YR OLD MALE PLOT HOUND MIX THAT WEIGHTS APPROX 63 LBS. ARCHIE GETS ALONG WITH OTHER DOGS AND KIDS, HE HAS NOT MET CATS SO INTRODUCE HIM TO YOURS SLOWLY. JACE ENTERS TRAINING ON AUG 7TH FOR 10 WEEKS AND WILL BE READY TO COME HOME WITH HIS FOREVER FAMILY ON OCT 16TH.

Hello everyone,
Jace is doing remarkable and doing even better with every day that goes by. He has a lot of energy. But he has been able to learn that he does have an Off and On switch. His confidence has improved a great deal. It is so cool to see him walk around on the yard with his head up high. It brings joy to my heart. He can get a little skittish at times over loud noises that he can’t see. He has learned that he can overcome it quickly. There are not any limitations to this dog. Once you have your bond with him he will do just about anything for you. He plays great with small or big dogs! And no problems with wheelchairs or walkers. He is one good dog to say the least. Rock Star (and he can hold it all night.)

RPSM has been using the Beef Hide rolls with the hair still attached from Farm Hounds Treats in the training program for the dogs and they are working out well! The dogs really like them, and they last a long time!
