Fall Bird Camp 2026 books are open and 50% filled with repeat dogs.
We are planning the Dakotas for our fall camps based off hatch and weather reports. Woodcock Camp returns in January in East Texas.
Each camp is limited to 4 dogs, 2 spots left per camp.
This is real wild bird work. Dogs get repeated exposure to wild birds, new country, and the kind of decisions they cannot learn in a planted field alone.

Happy 5th Birthday to our Alpha litter!

Santo has earned a reputation for being extremely wild, but the truth is he’s the sweetest dog I own, he loves people as much as he loves birds…. He is a high drive male that has developed into one of the best retrievers I’ve ever worked with. His natural retrieving ability and desire to retrieve are unmatched. I could throw 100 bumpers and he’d still be asking for at least one more.

As he’s matured, he’s settled into himself and taught me a lot about working with high drive dogs. The Alpha litter will always hold a special place for me because they were my first litter. I learned a tremendous amount from them, and Santo continues to teach me something new every season.

This litter produced 2 pz 1 utility dogs, one going to the invitational this year and I am hopeful Santo will make it a utility breeder award this year.

Wishing our B litter a very happy birthday.

It’s been fun watching this litter develop and seeing the differences in each dog’s strengths, style, and personality. As they mature, it’s becoming clear that they have a lot of natural ability and drive.

We’re especially excited to see what their second hunting season brings. Two dogs from the litter were already steady enough to guide over during their first season, and we expect even bigger things from the entire group this year.

Happy birthday, B litter. We can’t wait to see what’s ahead.

Happy Birthday to my wife, Jessica. I don’t give you enough credit, but somehow I talked this gal into moving to 11.5 acres so we can build this dream dog kennel together. You’ve supported every wild idea I’ve had, and I couldn’t do any of this without you. Who knows… you might be running Chica in the field before long. I love you and I’m thankful for you.

Gifted my dad a guided duck hunt for Christmas and it was a 10 of 10 experience. Time in the blind with my dad and brother is hard to beat. Great hunt with Garrett over . Santo and Lady put in solid work on the retrieves. Four man hunt with Jason Stanley from made it even better. Grateful for days like this.

One huge perk to being tall on the prairie is high stepping these fences. Dogs and my brother don’t get that advantage.

Chili dogs with the prairie dogs. Field lunches don’t have to suck. From Texas smoked brisket and pulled pork to burritos, we make the most of a break in the field. Growing up working for a catering company taught me how to cook anywhere. I enjoy taking the time to put together a solid lunch. It’s part of what makes a long day outside better.
