The last customer deer went out of the shop today and it was a good one, and local too. Thanks Jay Heeg, it was great doing business with you! Also thankful for all my other customers over the years. Just a few more weeks and I’ll have the last batch of fish complete and I’ll have everything wrapped up.
For those of you that don’t already know the shop doors will remain open under a new name! Check out Autumn's Harvest Taxidermy as she continues the tradition. Autumn Mitchell

Exciting news!
I would like to introduce Autumn Mitchell. I met her 7 years ago when I was teaching a taxidermy class at Medford High. She showed interest in learning more about the art. She impressed me then with her natural talent and we discussed her coming in and learning what it was all about. Things in her life changed and decided to go to college instead. Fast forward and we recently reconnected and she expressed that she still would love to learn. She has been coming to the shop religiously and has shown me that she is very capable and has the drive to make a name for herself as a taxidermist. I’m happy to say that she is ready to jump in and get her business started and she will be taking over my studio. It will be solely her business and all corespondence will go through her.I will be here to guide her on her journey. With her drive and my experience I believe she can take on work from my clients. If you are willing to give a motivated talented young lady a chance give her a call or text @ 715-965-1661. Follow her on FB Autumn's Harvest Taxidermy

Here we are the middle of August already. With hunting seasons just a few weeks away and after a lot of thought and discussion I am planning on retiring in 2026! With that being said I will not be taking in any new work this fall as I concentrate on finishing up the work that I have in the shop. I truly appreciate all of you and the business over the past almost 20 years, but the time has come for me to turn the page do some of the things I have been planning on for a long time. After the end of December when I know more of where things stand I may or may not take in a small amount of work but until then I would suggest you do your homework and start finding a new taxidermist. As if right now I have no recommendations for you. If any of my fellow taxidermists see this and would like me to send people your way DM me and I’ll see what I can do. As always happy hunting and good luck this year!

Edit: As most of you know I don’t do European mounts here in the shop I send them out to be professionally done and I will be around the shop this fall so I will take those in and get those done for you!

For any of you that have your deer antlers it’s time for you to get them back to me. Also if any of you still haven’t decided on a pose for your deer I need that done soon. It’s hard for me to mount your deer without those things. Getting them back to me now will help me keep the process moving along.

Last call for the raffle tickets for the 100 pew pew stick giveaway. I have a few left and when they are gone they are gone. Don’t miss out on your chance to win 1 or more of 100 freedom tools 🔫🇺🇸 message me or stop in the shop if you want to get in on the action.

Well that went fast. I am very close to my limit of work coming in for this year!
With that being said I have left a handful of availability for some of my longtime loyal customers. If you have contacted about a deer that you are planning on bringing please do that soon so I can take care of it.
This wasn’t an easy decision this early in the season but one I had to make for my own piece of mind. I plan on taking some vacation time this year and maybe even find a hunting trip. Working 60 plus hours a week is not good for anyone. I hope you all understand that this is a business decision and one I didn’t make lightly.
Thank you all for your support!
Just a side note, if you have a European that you want done
I can handle that for you and I will be taking fish in starting in January.
