What are some tools your adding to your horses toolbox right now? Tell us in the comments!!!

Balance is the foundation of everything we do when riding a horse. Before we worry about where the horse carries its head, how soft it is in the bridle, or how well it performs a maneuver, we need to understand how it carries its body and moves its feet. A balanced horse can move forward, slow down, turn, and change direction without feeling like it is constantly falling onto its front end or leaning on the rider for support.
From the saddle, we want to feel a horse that can maintain its own balance without us having to hold it together with our hands. Our job is to help the horse find that balance through clear direction, consistent feel, and well-timed releases of pressure. If the horse struggles to stay balanced, we should not immediately demand more collection or a tighter turn. We should simplify the task and give the horse the opportunity to figure out where its feet need to go.
