We practice leash waking inside first, then add the regular leash length inside. When we bring the skill outside we use a longline so puppy isn't learning to put tension on the leash as they explore new things and places and then transition to practice outside with a normal leash to set them up for ultimate success

Miss Betula, independent yet sweet as pie. Loves to learn paired with a healthy dose loving to bug the other adult creatures in the house. She is actively enjoying her training and showing more self control everyday she figures out that goodies happen when she does. She would also like you to know she is tired of her brothers and ready to live in a house without them where she had plenty of time and space to explore on her own and come up for cuddles and belly rubs when she is done.

Building new associations with things in a place where reactions havent occurred can help bridge the gap and make a behavior problem go from daunting to workable. Since delivery drivers and vehicles have fallen out of favor at home we are hanging out with the boring vehicles parked at the warehouse and just having a nice little doggy picnic and walk with goodies and praise.

You are not alone! Between 5 and 12 months old, puppies test boundaries, forget their manners, and test your patience.
Join my Older Puppy/Teen Dog Manners Class starting August 26th at VCA North Idaho Animal Hospital (320 S Ella Ave, Sandpoint, ID) I will help you turn that wild adolescent energy into polite focus. The class is on Wednesdays from 6-7pm, runs for 4 weeks and costs $250.
What I teach:
Reliable recall (coming when called)

Puppy training session, intro to shaping and clicker training! One thing we are incredibly passionate about at Inquisitive Training is teaching dogs how to problem solve and think! We want them to learn how to make good choices and realize that appropriate creative choice pays well.
One of the major benefits that we see when we teach dogs with shaping is it TIRES them out! It takes a lot of brain cells to figure out what we want when we aren't prompting and building long term confidence knowing they can problem solve with minimal human interference.
