Big shout out to Nyles & his boy Moose achieving his HRC Seasoned title today. This takes a lot of hard work, patience and determination. Moose is a Max son, and I love seeing that drive passed down. Congrats boys! 🐾 🦆

Once again, amazing and wildly talented captured the moment perfectly. ✨

Some photos just freeze time, but these somehow hold the feeling too. The chaos, the heart, the little split-second expressions you never realize are happening until someone with a gifted eye catches them forever. Every image feels alive, like stepping right back into the moment dust and all. 🤍

I’m endlessly grateful for Karley, who can turn fleeting memories into something you can keep forever. These aren’t just pictures to me, they’re pieces of a story I’ll always treasure. 📸🐴

I checked Max’s Grand points. He’s at 23, has a major but needs some CH defeats. Turning 8 this year I’m not sure if we are going to be able to achieve it but I sure do miss showing this guy. He’s the up for anything kinda dude. ☺️

GUESS WHO IS TWELVE TODAY AND STILL NOT LOOKING A DAY OVER FOUR?! REED! 🎉

My forever heart dog, my best girl, and one of the greatest constants in my life. Twelve years of unconditional love, endless companionship, and more memories than I could ever fit into one post.

Somehow the years keep moving, but she still has that same bright spark in her eyes that she’s always had. Happy 12th birthday to the sweetest soul. ❤️

📸 Huge shoutout to FiveMegaWatts Photography for capturing Reed so perfectly and somehow managing to bottle up her spirit in photos. ✨

Pretty excited to announce that, pending AKC approval, Dani earned her Junior Hunter title today in Nevada! Huge thanks to Sunny Freeman for all the work and handling. She is now Savidges- Black Bandanna Sweet Louisiana JH.

After her next breeding cycle coming up soon (and her first litter) she’ll head back out to start working toward her SH title. If you’d like to get on the list, we have a few spots left.

Also a big shoutout to Rich Menendez for guiding Ticket to his first HRC Started Hunting Retriever pass. Really proud of these dogs and always love seeing their hard work pay off. 🐾

I know I’ve talked about this before, and over the years I’ve definitely had people think I’m crazy for fasting my dogs. But honestly, I’ve seen enough benefits that I stand by it. I even fast myself and notice a difference in how I feel physically and mentally, so it made sense to explore the same concept for my dogs in a safe and balanced way.

For me, this isn’t about deprivation or some extreme trend. It’s about giving the body a little reset and allowing the digestive system a break once in a while. Every dog is different, every lifestyle is different, and what works for one may not work for another, but this is something that has worked well in my home.

As always, I pay attention to condition, energy levels, activity, age, and overall health. My dogs are athletes, hunting dogs, moms, couch goblins, trail gremlins, and everything in between depending on the day, so their care is never “one size fits all.” 🐾

Are you feeding your dog too often? ⏰🍗⏰🥩⏰🥕🐶

Dogs fed once a day are less likely to be diagnosed with age-related conditions than pooches fed more often, study claims.

In the largest largest study to date of feeding frequency conducted in companion dogs, University of Arizona-led experts analyzed data on 24,238 pet dogs from the US and found:

• Being fed once a day lowered the risk of nine types of canine health problems
• These included cancer, dental issues and either kidney or urinary complications
• Similarly, dogs fed only once daily scored lower on tests of cognitive problems
• But the team said it is too early to advise owners to change their pet's diets

“We view these results as an exciting first step of an ongoing exploration of the impact of diet on companion dogs living in human environments. Given the intense interest in, and popularization of, ‘longevity diets’ such as intermittent fasting and time-restricted feeding, these types of studies in dogs are both timely and important. We believe these studies will ultimately offer insights into factors that promote health and longevity for both dogs and humans.” - The Dog Aging Project

The scientists and researchers we interviewed for The Forever Dog book agreed that one meal a day for healthy dogs is ideal, in terms of maximizing autophagy and minimizing metabolic stress.

To learn how to transition your pup to a new eating schedule and create an eating window (which allows your pup to receive the benefits of intermittent fasting while offering the same amount of food) check out the section in our book “Personalized Meals as Medicine” found here: www.foreverdog.com

Running trails with Max has become one of my favorite parts of life lately 🥾🌲

He’s the kind of dog that makes you look forward to the miles. Always happy, always with me, always ready for the next adventure. Whether we’re hiking, running, or just flying down a trail together, he makes everything more fun.

I’ve always been a “female dog person,” so I never expected to love a male dog quite like this. But this boy completely stole my heart. He’s goofy, loyal, steady, and somehow knows exactly when I need his giant happy energy.

Best trail partner. Best adventure buddy. Best boy ever. 🤎

I love how Max hangs his head over on the drive to school 😍

Merle was feeling himself today 😎✨

Our handsome boy took Best Adult at the RCLRC B Match under Heather Suomela, and I couldn’t be prouder. Huge thank you to the club for putting on another great show, and to Heather for finding our boy!

In true dog show fashion… Max kept things interesting and decided mid-ring was the perfect time for a bathroom break (yes, he was aired 🤦‍♀️). Charlotte handled it like a pro, still winning her Junior class with him!

She wasn’t done yet… she came back with Eve and took the Open Bitch class too 🔥

A day full of wins, laughs, and memories! 🐾
