Park County Animal Shelter Our mission is to exceed the needs of our community through engagement-based practices.

We are dedicated to honoring the human-animal bond by promoting pet retention through resource-based interventions. Since becoming a no-kill shelter in 1996, PCAS has endeavored to minimize euthanasia through education, community outreach, and network partnerships. We are dedicated to the preservation of life and a quality existence for all animals under our care.

We will be closed for Labor Day on Monday, September 7th and will be back open on Tuesday, September 8th!

While our doors may be closed, our wonderful staff will still be here caring for all of the animals who call the shelter home. They’ll be making sure everyone is fed, comfortable, loved, and getting all the care they need. ❤️

🐾 Adoption Recap! 🐾

What a week of happy endings! ❤️

Our kitten adoption event at Ace Hardware was a huge success! Calf, Toto, Shrek, Babette (not pictured), and Sookie (not pictured) all found their forever homes. We are so grateful to our friends at Ace for helping make these adoptions possible!

Winnie, our beautiful dilute calico, also went home this week, along with Beatrice and Louis, who were adopted together. We are especially happy that these sisters get to stay together! 🥰

Kirk found his perfect fit, and we couldn’t be happier for him. Kirk came to us pretty sick and spent some time in a foster home getting healthy enough to be neutered and eventually adopted. His journey makes this happy ending even sweeter!

Twiggy, Fangsta, and Meng Meng also went home together (not pictured)! 🐱🐱🐱

Our dogs had some happy news too! Ellie, Diesel, and Scotty (not pictured) all found their forever homes. 🐶❤️

And sweet senior Luna! After getting a special groom from our friends at Wash Dog Grooming, she headed to the vet to have a whole bunch of embedded cheatgrass removed from her skin. Then came the best part — Luna was adopted by one of our very own amazing veterinarians. We couldn’t have asked for a better home for this sweet girl. ❤️ Luna’s picture was captured by Sam Gulickson!

We also sent one of our working cats off to a new job! 🐱🔨

So many animals, so many happy endings, and so many new chapters beginning. Thank you to everyone who helps make these stories possible! 🐾

Today we’re celebrating our two wonderful orange boys who are each looking for the perfect home!
Felix is friendly with absolutely everyone. He’s a docile, easygoing guy who loves to lounge beside you while you go about your day. If you’re searching for a cuddly TV companion who’s all about soft snuggles and calm company, Felix is your boy!!😊
London wants attention, he’s just not quite sure how to accept it yet. The shelter environment is overwhelming for him, and he needs a quiet, patient home where he can take his time to adjust and learn that people are safe. 🐾 Meet Me Monday: Soop! 🐾

First things first… yes, her name really is Soop, and no, we did not name her! 😂

Soop is a young Husky mix who has had a bit of a rough start, and while we don’t know much about her background, it’s easy to imagine that some of her past may be why she’s not quite sure of herself yet. She can be shy and nervous when meeting new people and is definitely a little bit of a nervous Nelly. ❤️

She absolutely loves other dogs and does best when she has a confident canine friend to show her the ropes and help her realize that the world isn’t so scary. She’s crate trained, very food motivated, and working on her potty training — she’s not quite there yet, but she’s learning!

Soop would do best in a calm, patient home without young children or cats. She can be fearful of kids and likes to chase cats, so a home where she doesn’t have to worry about either would help her feel safe and successful.

Soop is currently living in a foster home, where she’s getting lots of love and learning every day. We’ll need to coordinate a time for you to meet her and her foster family. Please reach out to us before stopping by so we can make arrangements!

This sweet girl has so much potential. She just needs someone willing to give her the time, patience, and love to help her become the confident pup we know she can be. 🥰

Sorry for the delay, but we are SO excited to share our adoption recap from this past week! 🥳🐾

It was a busy one at the Park County Animal Shelter, with 11 adoptions! While we only have pictures of five of our happy endings, we couldn't wait to celebrate all of them. ❤️

🐱 Pig, our wonderful mama cat, was adopted along with one of the orphaned kittens she helped raise, Kleenex!
🐱 Beautiful Paris found her forever home, too!
🐶 Sweet GSP Ella was with us for no time at all before being adopted. And we have to point out that her adopter unintentionally matched her shirt to Ella's collar! Talk about meant to be. 💗
🐱 Our longtime resident Simon was finally adopted by the BEST family! He was one very happy boy, and seeing him go home was extra special for our team. 🥹❤️

And that's not all!

🐱 Sisters Rizzo and Glinda went home together as a working pair of shop cats, and we know they'll be fantastic at their new jobs!
🐶 Percy, another GSP, was adopted right away!
🐶 Plott Hound Hallie also found her forever home!

11 adoptions, 11 happy endings, and a whole lot of tails wagging and purrs happening this week. We couldn't be happier for every single one of them! 🐾❤️
