Rio’s story started under heartbreaking circumstances. Animal Control brought her case to light due to concerns of neglect. After reviewing her situation, Dr. Marcell and Brian Appelblatt knew they wanted to step in and give her the life she deserved.

They made the decision to take Rio in and officially make her a part of their family. 🏡🐾

Now, Rio’s next chapter begins, one filled with love, care, comfort, and a family to call her own. Sometimes the most difficult beginnings can lead to the most beautiful new chapters.

We’re excited to introduce Zuri Alvarez, one of our talented Veterinary Technicians at UrbanPawz Animal Clinic!

Originally from Cuba, Zuri moved to South Florida in 2016 and began her veterinary career in 2021. She holds an Associate Degree in Veterinary Technology from City College and brings five years of veterinary medicine experience to our team. Fluent in both English and Spanish, Zuri is passionate about animal care and hopes to further her education by studying veterinary ultrasound.

We’re excited to welcome Maribella Garcia to the UrbanPawz Animal Clinic family! Originally from Puerto Rico, Maribella earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in the Dominican Republic and brings over 25 years of experience in veterinary medicine.

Fluent in both English and Spanish, she is currently preparing for her licensing exam as she works toward practicing as a veterinarian here at UrbanPawz. 🩺🐶🐱
