Club member Stella is a sunflower 🌻 At least once a day, she finds a spot and soaks up the sun.
A little sunshine can support a dog’s circadian rhythm, helping set their internal clock.
Fun fact: Unlike humans, dogs don’t make meaningful vitamin D from sunlight—they get it from their diet. But just like us, too much sun can be a problem. Dogs with pink skin, thin fur, or light coats can be especially susceptible to sunburn.
For longer sun time, use a sunscreen made specifically for dogs. Some ingredients in human sunscreens can be toxic if ingested, and human products aren’t formulated for a dog’s skin pH.
Dog-safe sunscreen comes in different forms: sprays work well for short-coat coverage, while sticks or balms are handy for noses and ear tips.
The more we know, the more we can (safely) enjoy 🌞
