A urinary blockage can become a serious emergency, especially in cats.

Straining to urinate, frequent trips to the litter box, crying while trying to urinate, or producing little to no urine can all be warning signs.

If your pet is showing signs of a urinary blockage, seek veterinary care right away. Prompt treatment can make a critical difference.

Finding a lost pet can be stressful—but you don’t have to figure it out alone! ❤️

If you come across a stray dog or cat in Baltimore County, you can bring them to Pet ER Hunt Valley. Our team will:

🔎Scan for a microchip
📞Do our best to connect the pet with their family
❤️Help make sure the pet gets to the appropriate next step if their family can’t be located

If we’re unable to identify or reunite the pet with their owner, Baltimore County Animal Services can pick up the pet and continue the search for their family. 🏠🐾

Many pets that are found wandering aren’t truly homeless—they may simply be lost and desperately trying to get home. Taking a few minutes to help a stray can make a huge difference in getting them safely reunited with the people who love them. 💙

🐾When “I ate something I shouldn’t have” becomes an emergency!🏥🐶

Our veterinary team recently headed into the OR to perform a foreign body removal surgery on a sweet pup who had swallowed something that became lodged in the gastrointestinal tract.

With careful monitoring, teamwork, and advanced surgical care, our veterinarians successfully located and removed the foreign material. ❤️ The surgery was completed, and this brave patient is now on the road to recovery!

Foreign bodies can cause serious and potentially life-threatening intestinal obstructions. Signs such as repeated vomiting, loss of appetite, abdominal pain, lethargy, or changes in bowel movements should always be taken seriously.

A huge shoutout to our incredible veterinary team for their dedication and teamwork in the OR! 👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️🐾

🐾 Please join us in giving a warm welcome to our veterinary extern, Alyssa, to the Pet+ER team in Hunt Valley! 🎉

Alyssa is currently completing her clinical year at Kansas State College of Veterinary Medicine and is passionate about pursuing a career in small animal emergency medicine. Originally from Houston, Texas, she's excited to explore new places and see where her veterinary journey takes her.

When she's not in the clinic, Alyssa enjoys reading, spending time outdoors, getting creative with hands-on projects, and making memories with her dog, Mikasa. 🐶

We're thrilled to have Alyssa on our team as she continues to grow her skills in emergency medicine. Be sure to say hello and help us give her a warm Pet+ER welcome! 💙🐕🐈

🐾 A Happy Healing Update! ❤️

This sweet pup, Rex, recently came to Pet+ER Hunt Valley with a painful laceration on their paw. After a thorough examination, gentle wound care, and treatment from our veterinary team, Rex was able to head home to recover with his loving family.

We're happy to report he's now resting comfortably, getting plenty of TLC, and healing beautifully! 🐶💙

Paw injuries can happen in the blink of an eye—from sharp objects on walks to accidents in the yard. If your pet ever experiences a cut, excessive bleeding, or is suddenly limping, don't wait to have them evaluated. Prompt treatment can make all the difference in a smooth recovery.

We're so grateful we could help this brave boy get back on the road to healing. Wishing Rex many more happy, pain-free adventures! 🩺🐾

We were thrilled to sponsor and be part of this purr-fect celebration of cats, community, and animal welfare. Thank you to everyone who stopped by the Pet+ER Hunt Valley booth to say hello, ask questions, and learn more about our emergency and specialty veterinary services.

A special thank you to the Maryland SPCA for hosting such a wonderful event and bringing together animal lovers from across the community. We loved meeting fellow pet parents, supporting a great cause, and sharing our passion for keeping pets healthy and happy.
