Rory Wells Equine Summer Camp Sponsorship
Rory Wells discovered her love of horses at a young age while riding with Lisa Sessa at As You Wish Farm, where she first found confidence in the saddle. She later spent many years with Jen Knox and Lori Silver at Top Rail Farm, participating in the local show circuit, the Trailmasters 4-H Club, and the IEA team. It was there that she developed a deep appreciation for thoroughbreds and off-the-track Thoroughbreds, and where she learned the true meaning of a “barn family.”
In more recent years, Rory trained in the jumper ring with Priscilla Godsoe at The Covert Farm. Through her experiences there, she was learning to trust her instincts, grow as a horsewoman, and truly come into her own as a rider.
The Rory Wells Equine Summer Camp Sponsorship is established in memory of Rory’s adventurous spirit, determination, kindness, and enduring love of the equestrian world. It is our hope that this gift will introduce a young person to the joy, confidence, and sense of belonging that horses brought to Rory throughout her life.
The sponsorship will cover the cost of one week of equine summer camp, with preference given to a child who has not previously had the opportunity to attend a horse or pony camp. By sharing this experience with a new rider, we hope to honor Rory’s legacy and inspire the beginning of a lifelong connection with horses.
