💔 RESCUE SURE ISN’T FOR THE WEAK. MEET PRINCE. 💔🐾
Every single day, it’s something new. Another emergency, another phone call, another animal needing help.
And somehow, you figure it out while juggling the other 50 things that need to be done for the rescue, along with your own personal life, family, and work. Some days we swear there just aren’t enough hours or enough us to go around.
We are primarily a dog rescue, but when a cat crosses our path and needs help, we aren’t going to look the other way. Our hearts just won’t let us.
One of the heartbreaking things we’ve learned about cat adoptions is that no matter how many times someone promises their cat will be kept safely indoors, sometimes those promises are broken.
Then come the calls.
Found wandering outside. Hit by a car. Injured. Or simply left behind when someone moves away.
And when those cats need us to rescue them all over again, we don’t always have somewhere for them to go. Our cat foster homes are extremely limited.
Which brings me to Prince. 💔
Today, we received a call from a veterinary office. A cat had been brought in with an abscess on his face, and his microchip was registered to our rescue.
That cat was Prince.
After speaking with the woman who found him, we learned that Prince belonged to her neighbors. Neighbors who moved away MONTHS AGO and left him behind.
Just like an old desk they didn’t feel like taking with them.
For months, this sweet boy has been outside, fending for himself. No home. No protection. Nobody making sure he was safe.
And now he’s injured.
What an absolutely heartbreaking way to treat an animal who once trusted you with his whole world.
You promised to love him. You promised to keep him indoors and safe. You took responsibility for his life.
You failed him. But we won’t.
Prince is currently at our vet receiving treatment for the abscess on his face. He will also need his vaccinations updated.
But here’s our problem.
PRINCE HAS NOWHERE TO GO.
He needs a safe, loving foster home where he can heal, decompress, and get ready for the next chapter of his life.
And let me tell you, this boy is INCREDIBLY sweet. ❤️
At some point, Prince knew what it felt like to be someone’s beloved pet. He knew a home. He knew affection. He trusted people.
And despite everything he’s been through, he’s still that sweet boy.
We have always believed that it’s when life gets inconvenient that people’s true colors really show.
Prince deserved better. He STILL deserves better.

We would love to find him a foster, or even better, someone interested in fostering to adopt.
He doesn’t need much. Just a safe indoor space, someone willing to give him a little love while he heals, and the security of knowing he won’t be left behind again.
We will handle getting him the medical care he needs. We just need someone to give him a place to land.
