We go through a LOT of sheets and blankets keeping our pups cozy, clean, and comfortable. If you have any old sheets or blankets taking up space in a closet, let them become the perfect snuggle spot for one of our furry guests!

Huge shoutout and THANK YOU to Tiffany, our incredible General Manager 💙

This past weekend, Tiffany volunteered to stay overnight both Saturday and Sunday with the pups just in case we experienced any power outages. With extra heaters and generators ready to go, she made sure every single pup would be safe no matter what.

She slept on an air mattress, checked on everyone constantly, and still made sure all the pups were happy, healthy, and got plenty of pets and love.

We are so grateful for Tiffany and for everyone who trusted us with their pups this weekend! 🐾

Hey, Lake Wylie Pet Resort Family 🐶

We’ve made the tough call to close the resort from noon Monday, October 20 until noon Wednesday, October 22 because of a kennel cough (Bordetella) outbreak going around the area, which has made its way into our resort.

About a month ago, local vets let us know they’d been seeing an increase in cases nearby and told us to be on the lookout. Even though every pup here is vaccinated, this virus can still spread, just like the flu for us humans. We’ve been cleaning like CRAZY to fight it, but the best way to stop it for good is to shut down for a couple of days.

The virus can live on surfaces for up to 48 hours, so during that time we’ll be deep cleaning nonstop to make sure everything is perfectly safe again.

Transparency and your trust mean more to us than anything, which is why we wanted to share exactly what’s going on and how we’re handling it.

We’re very sorry for the inconvenience this causes anyone! We’ll be back open Wednesday, cleaner than ever, and ready for all the tail wags and playtime! 🐾

🐾 Sick season is not just for kids heading back to school — pups can catch colds too! We have seen a few more cases of “kennel cough” in the area, and even a local vet gave us a heads up this week.

The good news? It usually sounds worse than it is, and most pups are back to zoomies in no time with a little rest.
