Sir Muffin is the most handsomest boy with his beautiful gray and black coat. He was recently surrendered due to some life changes from his previous owner who had him for maybe 9 months. We believe he's approximately 2 years old and a poodle mix at 45lbs. Paperwork we recieved lists bernadoodle however we are unsure of the accuracy of this and don't know who his parents were.

He is tall, lanky, goofy, strong, and super snuggly. He really loves his people and wants to be their shadow and would be happiest in a home with another playful dog. He loved wrestling and has big ups! He is kennel trained and does well in it. Reportedly did 8 hours in it during workdays. He has lived with cats and other animals and would do well with an assertive cat who will tell him what’s up.

He would do best with a fenced yard and/or lots of off-leash exercise. He does well with a leashed walks using a gentle leader, but needs a lot more exercise as a young active pup. He will also need regular grooming as a poodle mix.

He is in a foster home and looking for a forever home, with someone who's ready to commit to giving him his best life!

Even without a building (YET!) there are many expenses a foster-based and volunteer operated animal rescue has to operate.

The cost of vetting needs is the highest expense. In addition to insurance, transportation, storage/utilities, food, litter, preventatives, sanitizing, website, transaction fees, sales tax on adoption fees, while we continue to fundraise for larger surgeries or health needs and our Building Capacity Capital Campaign.

Mork and Mindy have been with CCAR for almost 3 weeks now. They came in very shy and scared and hadn't been around very many new people or experiences. They have come a long way in their foster home! Learning that going up and down stairs isn't so bad and exploring the yard and playing with other dogs is fun! They've been around cats as well with no issues. They have been working on kennel training, potty training, and leash training.

They'd prefer to pass on the leash if given the option but learning it isn't so bad if it keeps them safe when exploring new places or meeting new people and dogs!

Mork isn't quite sure how to adjust his energy level and may come in like a bit of a wrecking ball while yelling Nan-u-nan-u!

Mindy is so sweet, she's learning that she likes her own space sometimes and can entertain herself. She's a bit more cautious than her brother.

Pitbull Terrier Mix,, 5 months old, both altered, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready to find their own forever homes!

UPDATE: Kaos has received 15 or more applications. Please be patience as our adoption coordinator reviews, connects with foster, and reaches out.

Meet Kaos, a young male pug ready for his new home. Younger small dogs often go fast in rescue. He is a little over 18 months from what we are told and has already had two homes in his life. We are hoping to find the best fit for him with a family ready to give him his forever home.

Since coming into CCAR's care he has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, treated for a double ear infection, and had 8 teeth pulled. Poor buddy probably wasn't feeling the best, however seems to be doing quite well now. After developing some routine into his day and learning the ropes of his new home he really would make a great companion. He has done well with dogs, cats, and kids.

Kaos' comes with the following warning labels:
⚠️ May hump other small dogs if given the chance.
⚠️ May spin in circles and/or whine if he doesn't feel you are giving him 100% of your attention.
⚠️ May give you a look of disapproval for no reason at all.
⚠️ May not be able to read body language from a cat who does NOT want to play with him, because he thinks everyone should want to play with him!
⚠️ Pugs are prone to chronic breathing difficulties, snoring, and trouble cooling down in hot or humid weather.

Mccarron and Faber are the last two boys in their litter who are more than ready to find their own homes and start their next adventure!

They are 13 weeks old, shepherd/mixed breed pups who are well socialized, love kids, love other dogs, exposed to cats, kennel trained, treat motivated, playful, and working hard on potty training!

We aren't sure how they've been at multiple adoption events and haven't received any applications. They are each waiting for just the right home!

Mama Shortcake raised her sweet litter of 6 sweet treats and now she is ready for her own home. She is so relaxed and loves affection. Her favorite is to put her paws on your shoulder she gives great hugs!!

These three were born in a barn near Holyoke. We took in 11 kittens from 3 different moms all born within a week or two of each other. CCAR was able to alter the mom cats to return, and place kittens in foster homes to get vaccinated and altered to end the cycle.

They are now 15 weeks old and ready for their next adventures! Paw and Boone look like grey tabby twins who are hard to tell apart unless you flip them around 🫣 and Vanissa is white and tabby.

They are very well socialized, friendly, playful with other cats, and used to being around kids and a dog. Paw and Boone love to curl up, and as you can see Vanissa prefers to spread out and practice her super model poses.

If they aren't pending adoption prior to Saturday they plan to be at CCAR @ Petsmart National Adoption Week Oct'26 from 10am-1pm, along with many other adoptable animals!
