The long awaits Market Lineup for the 2026 season 🍂

Come see us in person, try on knits, bring your pups(all are pet friendly!) to find the perfect matching set 🐶 and of course let me pet them ☺️

Where to find us:

👉🏻 November 7th: Sauce for the Goose Festival in Princeton NJ. 11 AM to 4 PM in downtown Princeton. Across from the Princeton Library on the street. Parking Garages and street parking available nearby. All Handmade Makers

👉🏻November 27th - 29th: Winter Village at the Red Mill in Clinton NJ. 10 AM - 6 PM Daily behind the Red Mill. Parking lots available around town, entry fee is $10-12 and is a donation to the Red Mill. All Handmade Makers

👉🏻December 12th: Montclair Flea Holiday Market in Montclair NJ. Hosted in the newly renovated Lackawanna Station, there are makers, restaurants , and more. Parking is hourly on location, come inside and get cozy with many handmade makers, vintage sellers and more!

👉🏻December 19th - 20th: Artist Winter Village Booth in Princeton, NJ. Next to the Princeton Library in the square, behind the artist chalet booths, come get last minute gifts before Christmas. Parking garages and street parking available nearby. All Handmade Makers

5 things I wish I did before starting my small business:

Let’s get into it!

1️⃣ don’t over think every product
👉🏻 make what YOU want to make not what everyone else is or what one person told you that one market. If i listened i would be making sweaters, pot holders, socks, and more and i do not like making that stuff for anyone but myself(plus the price i would charge 👀)

2️⃣ research markets!
👉🏻those early markets were definitely a huge learning experience. Figuring out my customer base, finding only handmade markets(no mlms sorry) is what really got me going. Start with the type of customer you want to reach and find out what markets they go to then vend there!

Make fantasy stuff? Go to ren faire to vend. Make products that are like collectables or based on “nerd culture” go to comic cons. Etc.

3️⃣ price yourself accurately
👉🏻 again research is key here. But also as you gain experience you can gradually grow your prices. What 2nd year Helen made for this business is vastly different than what 10th year Helen makes. And my prices reflect that. Find out what other people charge and compare it to cost of materials and labor. Also, see if you can get supplies wholesale! Changed the game for me immensely

4️⃣ open a business bank account!
👉🏻 not only will this make taxes extremely easy but there are loans and such to help you get started. Please read the fine print on that, but having one account for all business needs will make taxes and other finances so much easier to handle

5️⃣ outsource labor
👉🏻 either having people help you or actually outsourcing by hiring people to do certain tasks will help you keep doing what you love longer. If i didnt have my family and friends helping me, i would not be where i am today. They still help me! Mostly with markets but bouncing ideas off of, packing and prepping products, and more. They are such a life saver

From taking a fiber class in college to a full blown business 10 years later, i am happy i never gave it up. It brings me joy to have my work in the world.

This business gave me a purpose and helped me heal. Knitting continues to calm my anxiety and helps my depression and PTSD. Crafting is good for the soul.

To every person wanting to start selling their work, do it. Just go do it. I dont have a million followers or sold out launches, but i do have a community that loves my work and wears it with pride. We need more love and art and creativity in this world. Dont give up on yourself. 💕

Can we all just stop ✋🏻

I keep getting ads on how to “reach more customers” or “streamline your content” and it is all AI based!

I am sick of it. I understand why people use it. I get it can save time and help in certain areas. But what did you do before AI was so accessible? You used your brain!

I admit i have dabbled in AI stuff when it first came out. Then I read about how terrible it is for the environment, our brains, our wallets and i stopped. You can stop too

My captions will never be AI, my photos will never be AI, nothing on this page is AI.
