It looks like temperatures are increasing this week. Here a few reminders from the Humane Society of Central Illinois.

When temperatures rise, our pets count on us to help keep them safe.

Remember to:
• Keep fresh water available at all times
• Limit outdoor activity during the hottest part of the day
• Check pavement before walks
• Provide plenty of shade
• Never leave a pet in a parked vehicle, even for a minute

Watch for signs of heat exhaustion, including excessive panting, drooling, weakness, vomiting, or collapse. If you think your pet is overheating, move them to a cool place and contact your veterinarian immediately.
