🐾 Raleigh’s Pregnancy Journey: Week 2 🐾

We’re officially entering Week 2 of Raleigh’s pregnancy journey!

While there are still no visible signs of pregnancy, some amazing things may be happening behind the scenes. If the breeding was successful, the tiny embryos are continuing to develop and make their way toward the uterus.

🧬 During Week 2:
• The embryos continue dividing and growing.
• They are preparing for implantation in the uterus.
• Raleigh will likely still look and act completely normal on the outside.

🐶 Raleigh Update:
• Her appetite has been strong!
• She’s receiving additional supplements to provide extra vitamins and minerals to support her during pregnancy.
• We’ve noticed she’s been keeping more to herself and choosing to relax rather than play with the other dogs as much.

For now, we’re enjoying every step of the journey and looking forward to the exciting weeks ahead as we watch for signs that puppies may be on the way. ❤️

🐾 Training Day! 🐾

Chip joined us for a training outing at Tractor Supply with two toddlers in tow! It was a great opportunity to practice good manners, focus, and obedience while working through plenty of real-world distractions.

We love taking our dogs to dog-friendly stores for socialization and training. New sights, sounds, people, and unexpected distractions all help build confident, well-rounded dogs.

✨ Queenie is almost 6 months old! ✨

It’s hard to believe how much this sweet girl has grown! These photos show her before and after having her ears glued down.

Many people ask why Australian Shepherd breeders sometimes glue ears, so here’s a little explanation:

Australian Shepherds are traditionally known for their expressive button ears, where the ear folds forward and breaks slightly above the skull. While rose ears are also accepted in the breed standard for conformation, many breeders prefer the classic button ear look.

As puppies grow and teethe, their ears can do all sorts of funny things! During this stage, we may temporarily glue the ears to help encourage the desired ear set while the cartilage is still developing. The process is painless, does not hurt the puppy, and is only done for a short period during growth.

Queenie has been such a good sport through the process, and we are loving how she is maturing! 💕🐾

🐾 Raleigh’s Pregnancy Journey: Week 1 🐾

We are so excited to begin following Raleigh’s pregnancy journey with all of you!

Raleigh and Paxton have had several successful ties, and now we begin the waiting game. While we won’t know for sure if puppies are on the way for a few more weeks, a lot is already happening behind the scenes.

🧬 During Week 1, fertilization takes place and the tiny embryos begin dividing and growing. They are making their way toward the uterus, where they will eventually implant and continue developing.

🐶 Raleigh is feeling great and acting completely normal. At this stage, there are usually no visible signs of pregnancy, but exciting things may already be happening on a microscopic level!
