Help us welcome Kendra Meeker!

She joins us as a Patient Care Rep and comes to us after working hard as the enrichment coordinator at a local boarding facility!

Kendra grew up in a small farming town in SE Colorado and has been here with her husband and furry family since 2021. She loves Harry Potter & Disney Movies and when she’s not at work, she could be found enjoying a day at home with her husband Jon and her giant St. Bernard duo – Gus & Darla. She dreams of having a dog sanctuary someday, where dogs can go to be safe, happy, and loved.

When asked “Why Vet Med?” she said: I have an unconditional love for animals. All my life, I’ve wanted to work with animals and in the Vet world. I want to help sick or hurt pets with compassion & love & a positive attitude.

When asked “Why Creekside?” she said: Because of the way that they take the time to make you and your pet feel comfortable every minute that you’re there.

Kendra – we can see you going far. Keep up the good work with good heart!

Norm is a newer patient for us, but his story is long. Let’s just say, he hit the Owner Jackpot and has it made now 💙

Senior pet care should be about comfort, longevity, lifespan, and quality of life. And Norm - he’s not done having Good Days 😊

Does your senior pet need something a little different for their veterinary care? We are accepting new patients! 🐶🐱

Gus Gus is our 3rd biggest patient 💙

But we think he may rank #1 for drool 🤤😅

He is a Very Good Boy and we feel lucky to care for him. And we’re happy that we fought our contractor and forced them to make this kennel extra large, for Gus sized dogs 😎

Have you seen our hospital? Feel free to ask for a quick tour some time. Transparency is a core value of ours!

☀️🐶 HEAT AWARENESS PSA 🐾 ☀️

Flat-faced breeds like Bulldogs, Pugs, Frenchies, Boxers, and Shih Tzus are at a much higher risk for overheating during warm weather. Their shorter airways make it harder for them to cool themselves by panting.

🚨 Signs of heat exhaustion:
• Excessive panting
• Drooling
• Bright red gums
• Weakness or stumbling
• Vomiting
• Collapse

🌡️ Hot pavement can also burn paws quickly. If it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their feet.

💧 Heat safety tips:
✔️ Keep fresh water available at all times
✔️ Walk early morning or late evening
✔️ Avoid strenuous activity in high heat
✔️ Use fans, shade, and cooling mats
✔️ Never leave pets in a parked car — not even for a minute

If your dog shows signs of overheating:
➡️ Move them to a cool area
➡️ Offer cool (not ice-cold) water
➡️ Wet paws and belly with cool water
➡️ Contact your veterinarian immediately

Your squishy-faced babies depend on you to keep them safe this summer. ❤️🐾
