šŸŽ ā€œBut That’s My Favorite Horse!ā€ šŸŽšŸ’›

One of the sweetest things we see is riders bonding with a lesson horse. That trust and confidence is so important — and we absolutely love those special partnerships.

But here’s the secret to becoming a truly strong rider…
šŸ‘‰ Riding DIFFERENT horses helps riders grow faster.
Every horse feels a little different. Some are more responsive, some are steadier, some move bigger, and some require clearer communication. Learning to adapt to those differences helps riders build balance, confidence, and problem-solving skills.

At WildeWood Farm, we are incredibly lucky to have 30 lesson horses. Most riders will never get the opportunity to ride that many horses in their lifetime — and each one teaches something new.

While we always want riders to feel safe and supported, a little step outside the comfort zone is where real progress happens.

Our goal isn’t just to help riders ride one horse well… it’s to help them become confident riders who can successfully ride MANY horses.
And don’t worry — favorite horses are still very loved around here. šŸ’›

Did you know that hay helps keep horses warm in the winter? šŸŒ¾šŸŽ
Horses are hind-gut fermenters, which means the fermentation process that breaks down hay actually produces internal heat. That’s why at WildeWood Farm we make sure hay is available 24/7 during cold weather — steady forage supports both digestion and natural warmth.
Instead of relying on artificial heat, we focus on supporting their biology the way nature intended. A full belly of forage is one of the best winter ā€œblanketsā€ a horse can have!

šŸ™ŒšŸ½Ask any rider who’s hit the dirt more times than they can count: this journey isn’t about flawless rounds or never missing a stride. It’s about grit.

You might fall off at 40. Learn to ride at 60. Find your confidence again after years out of the saddle. The horse doesn’t care about your timeline, only your truth in the moment.

Missed seasons, lost ribbons, heartbreaks, hard lessons—they shape you. But they don’t define you. You define yourself every time you pull on your boots and try again.

The arena is still there. The horse still meets you with a steady breath. And every day you choose to show up, you’re already succeeding.

Keep riding. It’s never too late to find your stride.
