These four new trainees showed up this morning and were introduced to the prong collar for the very first time. All four were pulling on the leash initially with little regard for their owners and one with a history of human reactivity displayed that in full color for me. None of these dogs required any heavy-handed corrections or intense pressure from the prong collar. A simple tool switch up, backed with knowledge on how to use it, can produce major changes right now.

Sometimes you just gotta take it all off. In honor of losing 30 pounds over the last 10 weeks I thought it was time to shed a little extra weight and slim down my face as well. What’s my weight loss secret? A steady diet of eggs, bread, pizza, and barbecue. Oh, and about 15k to 20k steps a day, a new business build out, and constant property maintenance.

When you’ve been in the business for a while, you start to get more messages about former students passing on. One of them passed peacefully at home over the weekend. Recently, he had walked through a bit of oil from one of my clients machines and tracked it on the driveway. Rather than wash the paw prints away he decided to keep and preserve them for a long time to come. I love this 🐾

It’s all starting to come together. The space I dreamt up in my head is becoming a reality and I couldn’t be more excited. Your dog’s comfort during their stay has always been a priority and will continue to be. Climate controlled kennels with indoor outdoor runs and round the clock care and supervision. Overnight boarding for past and present clientele will begin in October. Let’s go!!

Even after an intensive board and train, there can still be issues to address and improvements to be made. That’s why the program offers free follow ups for the first year after your dog goes home. These two clients were still struggling with dog reactivity on the walk. They both needed to schedule a follow up and it just so happened that we could get them together on the same session to work off one another. Both dogs struggled coming in but after correcting effectively and addressing some positions and responses, they were able to both wrap up the session with cooler heads and renewed focus.
