It's getting chilly! 🥶Cold weather can affect your pet's joints, skin, activity, and routines. Here are a few tips to prepare your pet for wintertime:
- Provide a warm and cozy space off of the floor and away from drafts
- Sweaters or jackets are great for short-haired, small or senior pets
- Limit your pet's time outside in the extreme cold
- Some pets' nutrition needs might change during the winter. Talk to your vet if you think this might be the case.

!!!! Alert !!!!
We have seen a wave of parvovirus sweeping the area. This is a deadly and very contagious virus. We can not stress enough that this virus is preventable with vaccines. Please be sure to carry your puppies (too young for vaccines) to potty areas you know are not visited by unknown/unvaccinated dogs. If your dog is not vaccinated for parvovirus PLEASE call us or your local low cost clinic and get those vaccines! Puppies six weeks and older are ready to begin their vaccine series (these shots need to be boostered at initial administration, thereafter, are only needed once a year.) Older puppies often have a lower survival rate, so please remember...ANY unvaccinated dog is at risk. Please share this with friends and family, it could save a life!
