We’re revamping a few of our services and rolling them out this fall!

Swipe to learn more about our pack walks and hikes, structured daycare, puppy development class, and open gyms!

Pack Walks
Pack Walks will continue to be at 9 AM at Loew Park. Please continue to sign up in the event we need to change location or time due to inclement or hot weather. Walks are $10 and open to anyone, not just clients. These walks are a great way to work on your dog’s socialization, reactivity, and train with like-minded people.

Structured Daycare
We are back with new daycare packages and daycare themes! Daycare will be Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays with drop off from 7-9 AM and pick up any time before 6:30 PM.

Daycare is $50 for the day, OR you can purchase one of our new 5, 10, or 20 day packages. The larger the package the larger the discount. To purchase a package, please reach out to [email protected]. More details can be found on our website.

We’re also introducing themes into our daycare program. Mondays we will focus on recall, Wednesdays will focus on place and stay, and Fridays will work on leash manners.

Pack Hike
This month’s pack hike will meet at the Meadows Trailhead. We will be hiking roughly 3.6 miles and completing the Deer Lick Cave Loop. This is an ON LEASH event that takes place outdoors, so please dress accordingly. Pack hikes are $10 and open to anyone. For more information on the event or trail, please check our website.

Open Gyms
We’re also revamping our open gyms and heading out into our local parks to work on new skills. Open Gyms are not recommended for clients that have not completed training, as no foundational skills will be taught.

Our first Open Gym will take place at Edgewater Park on the 19th at 9 AM. We will focus on obedience with distraction and building advanced obedience skills. Our second Open Gym will take place at Loew Park on 9/29 at 6:45 PM with a focus on leash handling and leash skills. The cost is $25 with a $5 discount for clients that have completed a board and train program. More details can be found on our website.

Introducing our August client spotlight, Pippa!

Pippa is a 1.5 year old Lab x Terrier Mix who is currently enrolled in 1:1 classes with our trainer, Andrea. Pippa’s mom, Stephanie, said her favorite thing about Pippa is spunky personality and her eagerness to learn and please. Stephanie’s main training goals were to clean up obedience and communication with Pippa so she could better trust her around their one year old daughter.

Pippa has reached the point in her training package where they are actively working on ecollar conditioning. Pippa understands place, sit, and heel with the ecollar, and they’ve just started working on recall, down, and stay. Stephanie said the most important thing she has learned so far is that your energy travels down the leash and can impact your dog. If you are calm your dog has a better chance at success.

“We are so proud of Pippa’s progress and can’t wait for our next sessions to watch her learn and grow into a more well-mannered family pup.”

Introducing the June Board and Train Crew!

_______

Kevin
Kevin’s turning point came when we were able to work on his impulse control. Kevin is a great example of a dog that never outgrew those puppies behaviors we often hope will magically stop. Through setting boundaries and teaching Kevin to settle, he took a much more relaxed approach to the world.

Kevin is now able to spend time with his tiny human sibling and his older dog sibling, not reacting to dogs on walks, leaving the children’s toys alone, and being able to settle in his crate and not have accidents when left alone.

Salem
Salem’s turning point moment was when we prioritized a relationship with her and she realized she could relax. Previously, Salem was on edge around new people and was worried she would get pressured into social interactions she did not want. By spending the first week or so of her board and train building a relationship and not worrying about obedience she opened up and was more of her goofy self.

Salem is now able to pass both humans and dogs on walks, recall off of people or dogs outside the fence in her backyard, and even went on an outing to Lowe’s!

Fun Fact: Salem traveled from Columbus to complete her board and train!

Grady
Grady hit his turning point a little later into his board and train, but that is the beauty of the board and train; the pace is often set by the dog. Grady’s big turning point came when Anthony built up his pack drive and he began looking to Anthony for direction rather than reacting to every person or dog. From there, Grady’s confidence really grew.

Grady’s biggest accomplishment since wrapping up his board and train is continuing to look to his owners for guidance after moving to a new city. Sometimes a change in routine or environment can be a challenge, but it’s one that Grady and his parents have truly leaned into.

Zeppelin
Zeppelin’s turning point was when he realized he could take the backseat as we were going to make decisions for him. Much of Zeppelin’s anxiety stemmed from the unknown, so by stepping up and guiding him it el
