Meet Jin!

BDV is a network of collaborators, led by Jin, Robyn, and Erika. We're hoping to take some time to highlight our amazing team over the coming days starting with Jin.

"I was born into a family of professional dog handlers and trainers, so growing up I spent most of my time traveling from show to show and hanging out with the dogs. I started showing dogs myself when I was 5 years old, and never looked back. While I love many dog sports, conformation shows will always be one of my favorite things to do with my dogs.

Around 2015, I began researching Beaucerons with the idea that I might want to have a higher drive dog to pursue other sports with. In 2018, that idea became reality when I brought home Omen- who would become the very best service dog, show dog, sport dog, and all around goofball companion I could have asked for. Omen also led me to some new friends through the breed community, and, eventually, those friends and I decided to build a program together.

Today, you'll often find me at shows with a Beauceron or five! While I only have two Beaucerons of my own, Omen and Zira..."

Sully joined the BDV crew at the herding trial a couple of months ago, adding HT to his name. He's enjoying being back at the homestead in Georgia with a couch to lounge on and teenage puppies to raise.

Lenny has officially had his heart, eyes, elbows (prelims), and hips (prelims) tested, but haven't all been properly linked to his OFA profile. We're quite proud of this promising boy and look forward to figuring out his future plans. If he continues on his current path, we do plan to make him available to limited approved outside programs after his second round of testing in a couple of years. We're planners so please reach out sooner rather than later if you're interested!

Nyko was one of the original members of the BDV crew, brought in by the Salley family. While his role in the program has been breed ambassador, sporting partner, and puppy raiser, he is no less important to his family and friends.

Sometimes you just get a feeling. When we considered Ramses for Shazi, we all had the gut feeling that they would create something great.

Zira and Cipher got to meet up for some sibling time in Georgia. We couldn't resist finding some time for pictures.

So what's Vega been up to? After a nice couple of victory laps in the herding world for PT runs, she headed back over to the scentwork world. She qualified for 13 of 16 runs, which is amazing given she's only 18 months old, earning her Novice Interior, Container, Buried, and Exterior titles. That earned her the overall SWN title.

Can't wait to see what her and Sarah Price do next!
