No Fleas? That Doesn’t Mean Your Pet Is in the Clear!
One of the biggest myths in pet care is:
“I don’t see fleas, so my pet doesn’t need flea prevention.”
The truth? Fleas are incredibly good at hiding.
By the time you notice:
* Excessive scratching
* Flea dirt (tiny black specks)
* Hair loss
* Skin infections
…you may already have a full-blown infestation in your home.
**Only about 5% of the flea population lives on your pet.**
The other 95% exists as eggs, larvae, and pupae in your carpets, bedding, furniture, and yard.
That means your pet can be exposed even if you never spot a single flea.
And fleas are more than just a nuisance—they can cause:
* Severe itching and allergies
* Tapeworm infections
* Anemia, especially in puppies and kittens
* Transmission of diseases
**The best approach is prevention, not reaction.**
Veterinary-approved flea and tick preventives are safe, effective, and much easier than trying to eliminate an infestation after it starts.
Your pet may look perfectly fine, but consistent prevention is one of the simplest ways to keep them healthy and comfortable.
