Wellness, explained mid-bath 🫧

Most of us think of wellness as food, exercise, and vet visits. Routine hygiene is the fourth piece. Skin, coat, ears, nails, and teeth change a little every week, so regular check-ins catch small changes early, not all at once.

Grandma's dog got the garden hose. Times have changed.

And yes, he sleeps in our bed, too.

A good bath takes care of the coat and skin. But that still leaves out three other very important areas that need attention. Ears, nails, and teeth need regular care, too.

Meet Sammy, who doesn't mind a good brush-out one bit.

Labs shed more than most people expect. A de-shedding treatment pulls out loose undercoat before it ends up on your floors, car and clothes. Pair it with Basic Hygiene (bath, nail clip, ear cleaning and teeth brushing) and you're covered.

Halo has never heard of personal space. 😂

We snapped this close-up mid-visit and we're not mad about it. Halo came in for a clean, healthy routine and left with a little extra attention from the team.

On a scale of 1 to 10, how much personal space does your dog give you?

Meet Minnie, curls and all.

Cocker Spaniels have long, floppy ears that trap moisture, which is why ear infections are so common in the breed. An ear cleaning is part of every Basic Hygiene visit, and Minnie's ears are better for it.

Keeping up with your dog's routine is a lot of remembering. When was their last visit? What did they say about their ears? Who do you ask at 10 p.m. when something seems off?

The Scenthound app holds it all. Book your pup's next visit, see their S.C.E.N.T. Check results after every appointment, and reach a vet online 24/7.

How many of us thought walks kept our dogs' nails short? Dogs in the wild never needed a trim. Miles of running, digging, and rough ground did the work for them.

Our dogs have couches, grass, and walks around the block. Not quite the same wear. So walks help, but they don't finish the job. That's why a nail trim is part of every Basic Hygiene visit.

Say hey to Finn! 👅

Finn brought the full personality to the tub this week, tongue and all. Short coats still need routine baths. Regular care keeps skin healthy and that coat looking sharp.

Trim the fur around your pup's paws to help them walk without that slide across the floor. 🐾 Only adds a few minutes to their Basic Hygiene appointment.
