Please join us in giving a big Crown Jewel welcome to the newest member of the pack… Naji! 💜🐾 This sweet boy was found wandering the streets of Kernersville—scabbed up, scarred, and abandoned. When Animal Control said to just “put him back where you found him,” we knew there was no way that was happening.

So I brought him home.
While I was moving.
(Yeah, I know.)

I patched him up, got him healthy, and even had an adoption intake appointment set with AARF… but my heart said otherwise.

💫 The real miracle?
Ziva said “yes.”
After careful decompression and slow, intentional introductions, she welcomed him. And now—these two are thick as thieves.

He’s about 1.5 years old, full of wild puppy energy, and officially a Crown Jewel for life. ❤️

Welcome home, Naji. You’ve got a forever spot now.

(Also… if anyone’s dog wants to be his puppy playdate buddy, hit me up. 😂)

People always wonder why their dogs respond differently to the trainer than to the actual owner. We often talk about the answer to this in terms of “energy”, but the truth is, it’s because…

Dog trainers make our expectations very clear from the beginning and we stay consistent with those expectations:

🐶 We use a limited amount of vocabulary paired with body language cues.
🐶 The consequences we deliver are fair and without emotion attached.
🐶 The praise and rewards we deliver are exciting and encourage the dog to want to engage and do more.
🐶 We simplify things in terms the dog can understand.

There is a psychology and a science to dog training. We did not learn these things overnight and neither can you as a pet parent.

Listen to your Dog Trainer and don’t get discouraged. It takes time, patience and understanding.

‼️New Jewel alert‼️ Birdie earned her Emerald. This sweet girl won the jackpot after going through some rough times. She was dumped outside a local business, but quickly taken in and soon found her new life with a family and lots of dog siblings. She was a little wild in the beginning, but after a little bit of work, this smart girl mastered her obedience skills and has learned to settle and walk politely on leash. Now she will get to go on adventures with her new family and live her best life! Congratulations Birdie girl!

Shaunna, retired military and master dog trainer, brings structure, heart, and real-life results to every leash she touches. Her approach is simple: “I teach humans to speak dog.”

Grace is a recent dog training school graduate and now intern turned trainer. The puppies love her!
