what’s growing in May on our organic farm in Clearwater 💚 we probably missed a few things because there’s little pockets of food and beauty everywhere around here, but this is the bulk of what we have growing this month!

We’re Life Farms, a certified organic farm in Clearwater, FL 💚

We grow certified organic vegetables, fruits, herbs, flowers, microgreens, and more for the Tampa Bay community.

Our farm store is open every Friday, Saturday, and Monday and carries fresh produce and flowers from our fields along with plants, compost, honey, and a huge variety of products from local farmers and makers we love supporting.

You can also find our produce at local farmers markets like and .stpete, and our produce is used by some amazing local restaurants.

Some of our extra produce also goes to where it’s turned into nourishing meals for people experiencing homelessness in our community.

We host events, classes, tours, and more throughout the year, and we’re always accepting volunteers to help out.

Join us at the farm to celebrate our planet 🌎💚

Our 3rd annual Earth Day Event is a FREE day of fun and education featuring guest speakers, farm tours, local food and drinks, and opportunities to learn more about sustainability, health, and caring for our planet!

Come see where your food is grown and how we use regenerative agriculture to support our planet. Farm tours will offered at 10:30 am, 11:30 am, 12:30 pm, and 1:30 pm and last about 30 minutes.

We’ve gathered some of our favorite local experts to share their knowledge on sustainability, health, and caring for the planet. We hope these talks leave you feeling inspired to take better care of yourself and the world around you.

1:00 pm | Bees 101 with Merek our beekeeper

We’ll have pizza truck on-site with organic sourdough pizza and drinks available for purchase.

We will also have tallow-based skincare education and samples from , and additional samples and education from local makers.

Our farm store will be fully stocked with certified organic produce, plants, compost, honey, and other high-quality goods from our farm and pasture-raised meats, raw dairy, sourdough breads, and other amazing items from partner farmers and makers in addition to our Build Your Own Bouquet Bar.

This is one of our favorite days of the year and we can’t wait to see you at the farm!!

Did you know we sell seedlings?

And not just any seedlings, but ones we’ve grown successfully for years and plant on our farm

They’re the same seedlings we’re planting ourselves, just extra, so you’re getting starts that make sense for this time of year and our unique growing conditions

One of the biggest mistakes people make when planting a garden is planting the wrong varieties at the wrong time

We also have fruit trees like papaya and fig, larger potted plants like rosemary, and lots of other good stuff

Our seedlings are organic and available at the farm store every Friday and Saturday from 10–3 and Mondays from 10–5 at the farm in Clearwater

We love our volunteers so much 💚

Yesterday, the team from came out to the farm and helped us immensely with weeding, removing dead papaya trees, and other much-needed tasks

This time of year, the farm grows faster than we can keep up with, so help like this, especially on this scale, makes a HUGE difference

We’re deeply grateful for a community that cares about our mission and chooses to spend their time helping us keep this place growing (and from looking crazy🤪)

Come spend the morning with us making crunchy probiotic-rich sauerkraut from scratch with organic cabbage grown right here at the farm

Victor will walk you through the whole process, share tips for success, and you’ll make your first jar in class and take it home

Sauerkraut is so tasty, good for your gut, and it keeps for months in the fridge

We almost had our most abundant mango year ever 🥭

But we got some of the coldest temperatures we’ve ever seen at the farm the first week of February

Our mangos, bananas, papayas, tomatoes, eggplants, basil, flowers, and lots of other crops took a huge hit

We do everything in our power to protect our crops but at the end of the day it’s physically impossible to protect every single one

Thankfully it looks a lot worse than it is, the mangos are still alive; they just won’t produce any fruit for us this year since all of the flowers died

Farming is tough, it comes with a lot of heartbreak, but when new leaves emerge from something we once thought was a goner, it gives us a renewed sense of hope and perspective

We are thankful for all the seasons, lessons, and all the curveballs Mother Nature throws at us 💚
