☀️🐾 Planning a summer getaway with your pet? Don't forget to pack safety first! 🚗🌴

Whether you're heading to the beach, visiting family, or taking a road trip adventure, a little preparation can help keep your furry companion safe and comfortable along the way.

✅ Pack essentials like food, water, medications, medical records, and a favorite toy or blanket.
✅ Feed a light meal a few hours before travel to help reduce motion sickness and provide lots of exercise beforehand to tire them out
✅ Make sure your pet's microchip information and ID tags are up to date.
✅ Check travel requirements in advance, including vaccination records, health certificates, and any destination-specific regulations.

Most importantly, never leave your pet unattended in a parked vehicle—even for a few minutes. Florida temperatures can become dangerous very quickly.

There's no better way to celebrate than by getting outside and exploring Florida's beautiful trails with your furry adventure buddy.

Before you hit the trail, keep these pet safety tips in mind:

✅ Bring plenty of fresh water for you and your pet. ✅ Avoid hiking during the hottest parts of the day. ✅ Keep pets on a leash and stay on designated trails. ✅ Watch for wildlife, snakes, and other hazards. ✅ Check paws for injuries, burrs, or hot surfaces. ✅ Make sure your pet is up to date on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.

As you enjoy the outdoors, remember to Leave No Trace:

☀️🐾 Memorial Day weekend means sunshine, BBQs, and outdoor fun — but don’t forget our furry family members can overheat quickly. Heat exhaustion in dogs can become dangerous fast, so knowing the warning signs could save a life.

Keep an eye out for:

• Excessive panting
• Weakness or dizziness
• Vomiting or diarrhea
• Thick saliva or trouble walking

If your pup shows signs of overheating:

✅ Move them to a cool area
✅ Apply cool (not ice-cold) water
✅ Use cool towels on the head, neck & chest
✅ Offer small amounts of water
✅ Contact your vet immediately
