🐾💙 Happy Veterinary Technician Week! 💙🐾

We want to give a HUGE thank you to Elanco, Merck, Hill’s, BI, and their wonderful representatives for treating our team to breakfasts and lunches throughout the week! We truly appreciate your generosity and support!

We love celebrating Tech Week here at Clayton Animal Hospital! These ladies work so hard every single day, giving their all to care for our patients. It’s so much fun to take a little extra time to celebrate them and show them how much they mean to us!

We couldn’t do what we do without them!

🐾 Let’s Talk About Leptospirosis! 🦠🐶

Did you know your dog can be exposed to a serious bacterial infection just by playing outside?

Leptospirosis (Lepto) can affect dogs of all ages and lifestyles, causing severe kidney and liver damage—and it can be fatal.

💧 How can dogs become infected?

• Drinking from puddles, ponds, or standing water
• Contact with soil or water contaminated by infected wildlife urine
• Exploring their own backyard!

⚠️ Why vaccinate?

Even dogs that rarely leave the backyard can be exposed. All dogs can be at risk, regardless of size or lifestyle.

❤️ Leptospirosis is also zoonotic, meaning it can spread from animals to people.

At North Main Animal Clinic, we recommend the Lepto vaccine as part of your dog’s routine preventive care. Protecting your pet helps protect your family, too!

📞 Call us to make sure your dog is up to date.

🐾 Prevention is always better than treatment!

We love seeing our doctors work together! ❤️

One of the best things about having a great team is being able to bounce ideas off each other, share knowledge, and work together to give our patients the best care possible.

Who says you can’t teach a cat new tricks?!

Chloe has taken on the challenge of teaching our resident cat, Autumn, a few new tricks! 🧡

As you can see, Autumn is a very willing student… as long as treats are involved! 😂🐾

We think Autumn has officially mastered the art of looking adorable while begging for snacks!

🦷🐾 Think young dogs can’t have dental problems? Think again!

Even young dogs can develop serious dental issues! Just look at the buildup and dental concerns we found on this little one’s teeth.

This is why yearly wellness exams are so important! ❤️

During your pet’s annual exam, our veterinarians check their teeth and gums for signs of dental disease. Catching problems early can help prevent pain, infection, and even tooth loss.

🐶 Our goal is to catch dental problems early enough to SAVE teeth, not remove them!

Don’t wait until your pet has bad breath or trouble eating. Dental disease can be hiding where you can’t see it!

Call Clayton Animal Hospital at 937-836-6969 to schedule your pet’s wellness exam or dental evaluation.
