FUN FACT FRIDAY! 🦉🎃
Owls have some seriously spooky adaptations!
👀 Their large eyes help them see in low light.
👂 Their facial feathers help direct sound toward their ears.
🦶 Their strong talons help them capture prey.
And that mysterious head-turning trick? Owls cannot actually turn their heads all the way around! They can rotate their heads about 270 degrees—which is still pretty impressive. 😳

🐾💉 One Vaccine. Protection Against Multiple Serious Diseases.

Keeping your dog up to date on their DAPPLv4 vaccine is an important part of preventive care. This combination vaccine helps protect against several contagious—and potentially life-threatening—diseases:

🐶 D – Distemper
A highly contagious viral disease that can affect the respiratory, digestive, and nervous systems.

🐶 A – Adenovirus
Helps protect against canine infectious hepatitis, which can cause serious liver disease.

🐶 P – Parvovirus
A highly contagious virus that can cause severe vomiting, diarrhea, dehydration, and life-threatening illness—especially in puppies.

🐶 P – Parainfluenza
A respiratory virus associated with contagious respiratory disease in dogs.

🐶 L4 – Leptospirosis (4 strains)
A bacterial disease dogs can encounter through contaminated water, soil, or urine from infected animals. It can cause serious kidney and liver damage and can also infect people.

🌧️ Why is Leptospirosis protection especially important?
Dogs don’t have to live on a farm or spend their days in the woods to be exposed. Wildlife, rodents, standing water, puddles, and contaminated environments can all create opportunities for exposure.

❤️ Prevention starts before exposure. Keeping your pet appropriately vaccinated helps protect them from preventable disease and supports a healthier community of pets.

Not sure when your dog is due for their DAPPLv4 vaccine? Give us a call and we’ll be happy to check their vaccination history! 🐾

Vaccination recommendations may vary based on your pet’s age, health, lifestyle, and previous vaccine history. Talk with your veterinarian about the appropriate schedule for your dog.

FUN FACT FRIDAY! 🕷️🕸️

Not all spiders spin webs!

Some spiders actively hunt their prey instead of waiting for it to become trapped in a web. Jumping spiders, for example, use their excellent vision to spot and chase their prey.

And here's another creepy-cool fact: 🕷️ Spiders have eight legs, while insects have six!

🎃👻 TRICK-OR-TREATERS ARE COMING! IS YOUR PET READY? 👻🎃

For us, Halloween means costumes, candy, and fun! 🍬🕷️ But for our pets, a night filled with doorbells, knocking, strangers, and unusual costumes can be confusing or stressful.

🐾 Create a Safe Space
Set up a quiet room away from the front door with your pet’s bed, favorite toys, water, and something that smells like home.

🚪 Keep Pets Away From the Door
Even pets who normally stay close can become frightened and try to escape when the door is constantly opening.

🔔 Get Them Used to the Noise
If your pet is nervous about doorbells or knocking, practice ahead of time with treats and positive reinforcement to help them associate the sounds with something good.

👻 Let Costumes Be Introduced Slowly
Masks, hats, and costumes can look very different to your pet. Let them see new costumes before Halloween night rather than surprising them.

🏷️ Check Their ID!
Make sure your pet's collar, ID tag, and microchip information are current—especially before a busy night when there are lots of opportunities for an accidental escape.

🍫 Keep Treats Out of Reach
Remember, Halloween candy is for the humans! Keep candy bowls and treat bags safely away from curious noses.

❤️ Most importantly, let your pet celebrate Halloween their way!
Some pets love the excitement, while others would rather spend the evening relaxing somewhere quiet. Give them the choice and make sure they have a safe place to retreat.

🎃 A little preparation can help make Halloween a happy night for both you AND your pets! 🐶🐱
