Silver Lake is still looking for assistance in taking care of our kitties in the Adoption Center at PetSmart in Rochester Hills. It would only be on Wednesday evenings. We will train the volunteer who would be available to feed and clean cages for our kitties. Please call our hotline at (248) 545-6583. A person with experience caring for cats would be great but not necessary!

Dear Friends and Supporters,

For years, your generosity has allowed Elizabeth Lake Animal Rescue and Silver Lake Animal Rescue League Inc. to save countless lives. We are writing to share an update on our next chapter.
We are currently changing focus of our operations. While we are no longer doing open intakes (except for returning animals that were previously adopted through us), our dedication to the animals in our care has not changed. To help us fund the long-term care of our current residents and returned kitties, we are opening up our supply closets for a Massive Joint Garage Sale!

Join us this Saturday, October 17th at 10:00 AM.

The sale will take place at 195 South Roslyn Waterford, MI 48328. When you arrive, please enter through the driveway on the side of the house.

We have an incredible amount of inventory perfect for individual pet owners, fosters, and local rescue groups, including:

• Over 30 kennels spanning small, medium, and large sizes.
• Specialty housing, including playpens, rabbit setups, and a brand-new ferret cage.
• Everyday essentials like carriers, litter boxes, and reusable 34x34 waterproof pads.
• Comfort items including interactive toys, water fountains, and a massive assortment of ceramic and raised dishes.

If you don't need any supplies right now but still want to contribute, we will gladly accept donations of scoopable litter, canned or dry cat food, and financial gifts at the event or via our pages.

Thank you for standing by us all these years. We hope you'll stop by, find some great goodies, and help us continue providing a safe haven for our cats.

Update: The family has found a potential good fit. They are doing a foster to adopt senerio to ensure the slow intro to the current kitty works and that it is a good fit for all. Paws crossed!

My friend's mother recently passed and left behind her kitty. The only thing she loved as much as her human family was her beloved kitty, Sophie. A bit about Sophie from her granddaughter.
Sophie is super friendly, cat friendly, loves people and kids. Dogs are unknown. She loves to sleep near her human, loves cuddles and affection,
She is spayed and had all her original shots but has not been regularly checked on at the vet.
She is about 6 years old , born a few months before Christmas of 2021.
Some funny stuff Sophie does is she will steal your hair ties and put them in her water and will chew on plastic bags if you leave them out. She is super adventurous inside her home. She has never been outside. If you are looking for a sweet cat, please consider Sophie. There is a rehoming fee. We can put you in touch with the family. Please no negative commits.

As you may know Anna has been taking care of our kitties in PetSmart’s Adoption Center (love a pet). We now are asking for your help!

Silver Lake needs volunteers to help with the love a pet at PetSmart, in Rochester Hills (Rochester Rd and Avon) if you can volunteer at least one day a week in the afternoon or evening about one hour to feed the kitties and scoop the litter box, this will enable us to continue to do adoptions in the love of pet.

Meet our newest rescue baby. Someone dumped her on east side and she wouldn't stop following the first person she saw. So he called a friend, who called a Elizabeth Lake Animal Rescue. They called us and we are working together on her. It is great to work with other rescues. The cats need us all. She is a doll. Scheduled for her make over in about a month. Now we need help with her name?

Update: Mike just brought the baby to me. She weighs exactly 1 lb, so guessing right around 4 weeks old. She seems healthy and very clean. No dirt, no flee dirt, clean ears. She was wormed. Gave him a kitten size litter box, scoop, a bit of dry kitten food and a can of kitten food for the am. She ate part of a can of kitten food while she was here. Everything on hand is adult, minus those couple kitten cans. He is going to the store in am to grab some mom and baby cat.

One of our previous adopters, works in Detroit. A coworker found this little baby on the side of the exit, while going to work. Our previous adopter is going to foster this baby for Silver Lake Animal Rescue League. You are safe sweet baby. It breaks my heart that someone probably discarded you like trash, but you are safe now. Thank you Mike and co-worker for saving this little soul.

We have been asked recently how can Silver Lake receive donations? After a recent incident, we are being cautious about replying to emails that request that information. I am posting this so we can refer these requests to this FB post.

Silver Lake Animal Rescue League, Inc. accepts checks sent to our Post Office Box. Checks are made payable to SLARL. Once we cash the checks, we do not return any cash. The address to send the check is: PO Box 336. Clawson. MI. 48017.

We do appreciate these donations since our adoption fees rarely cover our medical expenses.
