I just picked up sporty and Ginger two 6-month-old beagles for our 30 day board and train. They are little escape artist and escape every chance they get. When I arrived they had gotten under their owner's feet and knocked her down so we will be working on getting out from underneath the feet I'll get out command such as get out of my kitchen and work on their jumping. They're just puppies who need to learn some basics and definitely a good strong recall. When they get out of the yard they do not come it is Chase me until I get tired and then I'll come to you. We will get this little boy and girl listening well and better family pets.

I love working with and training animals. Star is my heart horse. People could never understand how I could keep her after she threw me 9 years ago and broke my back. She tends to be a little skittish and timid with new things and actually in this picture we were going to go for a little swim in the lake and a boat was coming towards us. So she had a boat coming straight at us and then from the side of us she had two mules pulling a wagon which is another huge fear of hers. Because she's trusted me over the last 10 years that I've had her she's gotten better about not flipping out. She still tries to turn and run every chance she gets. Training is for the life of the animal and never ends. We are always teaching them something new or advancing their training. It is the same way in dog training they should always be learning something new or advancing what they are already know. Most of the time this takes a lot of patience, understanding and motivation. Those are the three tools that I believe you need to use when training any type of animal. I took a little time for myself this weekend since classes were kind of slow. We are accepting new clients for private classes, in your home sessions and even board and train. We only have one slot for the Thanksgiving time period. And we're filling up for Christmas. If you haven't paid your deposit or your balance in full please do so as soon as possible..

Update on wh***ey from her owner...
I can’t thank you enough. Those black spots on Whiskey’s nose that you pointed out and one spot on her chest were melanomas. Because of you they were caught early and didn’t spread. They got all of them with clean margins. Thank you so much.

I got to fit in a trail ride with my horse tonight. Normally I just take one of my dogs but today I took three of them. They had so much fun. They're always so well behaved. We laugh at Freya my German Shepherd so she is definitely the life of the party run from one side of the field to the other jump in the creek jump back out of the creek who run across the field. They're nice and tired now a little over a 2-mile ride.

This is zippy I trained zippy as a 3-year-old she is now 15 years old. She's developed a new issue with going in the kennel at night and the owners wanted help solving the mystery. She just becomes very fearful stress panting and not relaxing in her crate. Being at her age we started to look at a few different things like she's developing some cataracts and we think okay is there something that's scaring her maybe shadows at night that she's unsure of but what we discovered as with most chihuahuas she has dislocating kneecaps. And I think what's happening is when she's getting in the crate she's bumping her leg and it's creating a little bit of anxiety. Anxiety associated with pain. So the owner has a softer bigger crate and we're going to give that a shot and see if she does better with going in that crate for bedtime. It was so good to see her after all of these years. She remembers everything. She was perfectly doing watch me, leave it, sit, down, stay, place, sit pretty and so much more. Will be communicating and she will be sending me videos so we can make sure that zippy is making some progress before we do another session if needed.

Part of our testing for service dogs is that they can handle a 3-minute supervised separation. Someone being able to handle your dog while you are out of sight is the situation such as an EMT having to work on you while a police officer holds your dog until they get you situated and the dog can be reunited with you. When we train service dogs they become very bonded with their people which causes a little bit of separation anxiety. During our training teaching them to be calm and relaxed with a stranger holding the leash for a few minutes at a time helps prepare them for an emergency situation. This also helps when somebody is in an MRI or a CAT scan that their dog can do a sit or a down stay while they are in the machine the dog will be behind the glass with the technician. Is getting very close to graduating. She goes everywhere with her owner including the schools that she works at, doctor's appointments, restaurants absolutely everywhere. When I first met Ellie she was a touch me not she did not want me to pet her at all she just worried about Mom and where she was at all times. This girl has become an amazing service dog.

George had a training session today it was his first one he is only 15 weeks old. The owners have really started to work with him and he is doing great. Today we worked with the kids on teaching George to not jump up and bite them, kennel, place, sit, down, stay, leave it and watch me or what we worked with him today on. They will do their homework for the next two weeks and I will return to do another training session with them to work more on these commands and teach a couple more. He was a lot of fun to work with super smart and eventually he will be a dual purpose dog he will be a family pet and a hunting dog.

I worked with six service dog teams today. A few are getting ready to gain public Access and a few are getting finished with their public Access. All dogs are starting to perform tasks or are ready performing the task that they've been trained to do. It was a great day to train!
