Paws to Care (http://www.apsu.edu/paws-to-care) seeks to help the feral cats that reside on APSU's campus by transforming individuals' kindness into organized care. Feral cats have had very little contact with humans

; they typically are born to stray cats or are stray cats that have reverted to feral behavior. From living in the wild, feral cats are more susceptible to feline leukemia, rabies, and FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus). Also, as they have never been spayed or neutered, feral cats reproduce at an exponential rate that easily can increase a population from 12 to 2,000 in four years! However, a group, organization, or club with more resources can participate in the Adopt-a-Cat program. For $300, you can provide one feral cat with vaccinations, a spay/neuter procedure, and food for one year. We also gladly accept Purina Cat Food (Purina Cat Chow Complete in the blue bag) or coupons to be used toward the purchase of food for the cats. If you have coupons or food to donate, please see Corina Ravenscraft at the APSU Woodward Library. Good morning, everyone! Happy Caturday and HAPPY INTERNATIONAL CAT DAY!

This isn't everyone, but from all of us and all of the campus cats, we want to say THANK YOU! We truly appreciate everyone who helps us and cares about the cats at Austin Peay like we do! We couldn't do it without YOU! ๐Ÿ˜ฝ

Good morning, everyone!

As the sun sinks lower and the shadows deepen on campus, a barely-seen flash of white flickers among the bushes. It slowly, cautiously slinks onto the sidewalk and stretches when the street lights blink on. Is it a white lion? Not quite. It's our beautifully elusive resident Ghost.

It's Thursday, so we'd like to show our gratitude in a "Thankful Thursday" post. Today, we'd like to thank the anonymous person who donated a bunch of cans of Friskies! We'd also like to thank our generous, anonymous, fabulous fan in Michigan for the big bags of food! THANK YOU BOTH SO MUCH! We operate strictly on donations, so whether it's food, money or other things to help us, we depend on the kindness of others to be able to take care of the cats!

Ghost posed for one of our alert faculty in the evening dusky light, and he wanted to say, "Thank Mewwwwwww!", too. ๐Ÿ‘ป ๐Ÿพโค๏ธ๐Ÿ˜บ๐ŸŽฉ

Good morning, everyone!

For today's "Thankful Thursday" post, we want to thank some very special people in our Paws to Care Community!

First, we'd like to shout out a big, grateful "THANK YOU!" to Mrs. Marcia Till, for her very generous donation that will help us continue to get vet care for the kittens we have available for adoption right now. Next, we'd love to say "THANKS SO MUCH!" to Mrs. Linda Stolz, Mr. and Mrs. David & Charla Major and Ms. Deborah Fetch for the bags and boxes of food they so kindly donated!

It reminds us how blessed we are to have all of the solid support that our wonderful community gives to us and the campus cats. We truly are THANKFUL! Our "OG" (Original Gov?) campus cat Tux wanted to say, "Thank Mew!", too! Isn't he dapper? Give him a monocle and top hat and he might pass for the Gov! ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿพโค๏ธ๐ŸŽฉ๐Ÿ˜บ

Good morning, everyone! It's another "Thankful Thursday" here at Austin Peay, and today we would like to thank our small army of feeders! They make sure that the campus cats have food and fresh water, every day, 365 days a year! We are SO grateful they're all willing to brave this terrible heat and humidity to care for the cats. THANK YOU, all (Amanda C. and Amanda D., Asia, Brandie, Bri, Brit, Brittani, Elizabeth, Julie, Kara, Kelly, Tina and Victoria)!

Poofy wanted to say, "Thank Mew!" too, and said to remind you all to bring extra treats when you come feed at Harned. ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿพโค๏ธ๐Ÿ˜บ๐ŸŽฉ

Good morning, everyone!

It feels like it's shaping up to be another hot one here on the beautiful campus of Austin Peay State University. Believe it or not, the cats seem to prefer the hot weather as long as they can cool off in the shade, or even underground in the pipes (yes, they will sometimes shelter there).

Since it's Thursday, we'd like to make it a "Thankful Thursday" by sending out our thanks and gratitude to all of our wonderful feeders (who also send us cool pictures of the cats) and those of YOU in the community who help us keep them fed! We honestly could not do everything we do for the cats (and kittens!) without YOUR help!

This is Mocha. She wanted to say, "Thank Mew!", too. She is a smaller cat, but she has come a long way since we first TNR'ed her. She used to hide and skulk in the bushes when the feeders came. Now she actually comes out and hesitantly approaches. ๐Ÿพโค๐Ÿ˜ธ๐ŸŽฉ

Good morning, everyone! We have a special "Thankful Thursday" post for you today.

First, we'd like to shout out a huge, big "THANK YOU!" to Charla and David Major for bolstering our pantry with some Cat Chow and Fancy Feast! It will really help out feeding the campus cats and the Paws to Care cats (and kittens!) of our fosters!
Secondly, we'd like to send our deepest and most sincere gratitude to those fosters (THANK YOU, Brandie, Kelly and Tina!!!) We definitely couldn't make such a difference without our fosters!
Third, we'd like to thank Ms. Jessica Blake and Ms. Amanda Cooper for helping us with the kittens! You two make caring for the babies a LOT easier!

We have two young cats and several kittens available for adoption. The young cats are both Paws cats (one was adopted 2 years ago and recently returned to us through no fault of his own, and the other was born on campus under the generator by Browning.) All of the kittens were found at the edge of campus (two separate litters and momma cats). We're in the process of getting the kittens fully vetted, but the older cats are fully vetted and ready for their forever families!

Cats:
Biscotti: 3-4 years old and needs a quiet home, with NO kids, someone who understands that he may take a long time to come out of his shell and may never be a lap cat.

Gigi: 15 months old. She does have a sensitive stomach from having giardia when she was a kitten, so she should be on sensitive stomach food. But she LOVES people and wants to be around you or on you all the time.

Kittens: The "Snack Pack" (Ritz, Jiff and Churro). THESE guys are quite the trio of brothers! They almost all look alike except for Churro who was born with half a tail. They are the cutest, funniest, most playful kittens EVER!

We also have Noddy Peanut (F) and B-Linkin Butters (M) who need to be adopted together. They do *everything* together (yes, everything) and we don't want to put them through the stress of separation.

If you're interested in any of them, please send us a message and we'll send you an application. ๐Ÿพโค๐Ÿ˜ธ๐ŸŽฉ

Good morning, everyone! It's a Thursday here on the beautiful campus of Austin Peay State University, and that means it's time for a "Thankful Thursday" post.

Today, we'd like to send out a BIG THANK YOU! to Mrs. Linda Will Stolz and Mrs. Deborah Fetch for sending us several big bags of food, cans of wet food and a package of Mosquito Dunks! We use the Mosquito Dunks on a part of campus that has a drainage "pond" and tends to get swampy. Mosquitoes can carry heartworms, which can infect the cats and be dangerous, hard, and expensive to treat. Mosquitoes also make feeding over there a buggy nightmare in the summer. THANKS very much for the food and dunks! They are truly appreciated!

Our gorgeous kitty Freyo wanted to say, "Thank Mew!", too! He isn't quite as long-haired as Poofy, but he is still fancy. Look at those whiskers! ๐Ÿพโค๐Ÿ˜ธ๐ŸŽฉ

Good morning, everyone! Happy "Thankful Thursday!" Me-WOW, do we have a LOT to be thankful for today! ๐Ÿ˜ป Last week, we sent out a call for food donations, and our amazing community did NOT disappoint us! A HUGE, BIG "THANK YOU!!" goes to: (in no particular order) Kay Dillard Haralson, Tiffany Sparks, Brittany May, Dana Baggett, and anyone else who donated food and treats! We apologize if we missed anyone; there weren't always names with the boxes, but we โค you all.

๐Ÿ˜ธ Paws was able to restock the pantry with: *3 BIG boxes and a case of wet food cans, *2 LARGE bags of Temptations treats, *3 BIG bags of Purina dry food and *3 packages of the 4 small bags of Purina dry food bundled together!

In any case, we are SO GRATEFUL to have generous, loving people like you, who help us take care of the campus cats. We truly could not do this without YOU! Here's a photo of P***e and Steely Dan (who kind of blends into the background, doesn't he?), who also wanted to say, "Thank Mew!" for the food. ๐Ÿพโค๐Ÿ˜บ๐ŸŽฉ

Good morning, everyone. It's time for another "Thankful Thursday" post. Today, we'd like to extend a BIG "Thanks in advance" to ANY and ALL of our community of supporters, in the hopes that we can get some food donations!

Our pantry is running low and Fury (seen here) and the others have issued a formal complaint ๐Ÿ™€:

๐Ÿพ Issue: Empty food bowls.
๐Ÿพ Requested Resolution: More cat food.
๐Ÿพ Level of Urgency: Extremely dramatic.

PLEASE help us stock the shelves for our furry friends on campus. Donations of Purina Cat Chow Complete dry food in the blue bag (Chicken version), Friskies Patรฉ wet cat food, and Catnip Fever Temptations treats are GREATLY appreciated and make a real difference!

You can bring donations to the APSU Woodward Library on campus, or send via Amazon or Chewy to: Paws to Care c/o: APSU Woodward Library 601 Hannum Street Clarksville, TN 37044.

We know times are tight right now, so ANYTHING helps! Please help us keep the complaints to a minimum and the purrs to a maximum. ๐Ÿพโค๐Ÿ˜บ๐ŸŽฉ
