Meet the Clubtail Iguana, a member of the spiny-tailed iguanas and star of yesterday's zoom challenge!

These little omnivores are seeing declining numbers in their native ranges of Costa Rica and Nicaragua and look strikingly similar to another species in Oaxaca, Mexico. In fact, hybridization was described back in 2004.

Uncommon in the pet trade, these fast little lizards boast five rows of spiked armor on their tails.

This reptile inhabits dry, tropical forests south of the equator and is suspected to hybridize with a similar species.

Small in size, the little known lizard is around a foot long and incredibly fast, reaching speeds up to 20 mph in short sprints.

Yesterday was National Dog Day and to celebrate, we zoomed in on the Dog-Faced Water Snake from India.

This aquatic, nocturnal snake likes to feast on fish, eels, frogs, and even crustaceans.

Look at that face.

This mild-tempered, mildly venomous snake hangs out in mangroves, tidal pools, mudflats and can even tolerate saltwater. Native to Asia, it has recently seen popularity among hobbyists in the Philippines.

Did you guess that we were zoomed in on a Checkerboard Worm Lizard yesterday?
That's right, it is a lizard, hailing from Northern Algeria, Western Morocco, Tunisia and the Chafarinas Islands of Spain.

👂In addition to not dropping its tail in defense, this species also lacks external ears.

👥This species can sometimes be found in pairs under rocks, but they don't prefer to hang out with members of the same s*x.
