Here is his bio from his owner:
Meet Loki 🐾
Breed: Red Merle Australian Shepherd
S*x: Neutered Male
Age: 5 years old
Birthday: July 2021
Weight: Approximately 65 lbs
Loki is a handsome, lovable Red Merle Australian Shepherd who has been a cherished member of his family since he was a puppy. He is a smart, loyal, energetic boy who absolutely loves being with his people and being part of whatever is going on.
Loki’s favorite things include going for walks, riding in the car, swimming, and spending time outside with his family. He loves being included in adventures and is happiest when he can be around his people.
At home, Loki is crate trained and actually prefers sleeping in his crate at night. During the day, however, he does not typically go into his crate while his family is away.
Loki is affectionate, but he definitely has a personality of his own! He enjoys cuddling on his terms and will happily come looking for attention when he wants it. At the same time, he likes his personal space when he is sleeping and does not appreciate being disturbed while he is trying to rest.
One of Loki’s best qualities is how good he is with children. He has always been great with kids and is especially protective of the children in his family. His protective nature does not mean aggression—he is simply very loyal and watches over the people he considers his own.
Loki knows basic commands and walks well on a leash. His recall could use some additional work, as he has typically been walked on a leash rather than being allowed off-leash regularly.
And then there is Loki’s love of food. 😂 He is absolutely food-motivated and will attempt to sn**ch anything within nose reach if given the opportunity! Children who are at Loki’s height should definitely keep an eye on their snacks. He is not aggressive about food—he just genuinely believes that anything remotely edible probably belongs to him.
Loki currently eats Purina Pro Plan Sensitive Skin & Stomach twice a day.
Loki is also very protective of his home. He loves watching out the windows and will bark at anything that catches his attention. His bark is very loud and ferocious-sounding, and it can definitely be intimidating to people he doesn’t know when they enter his home. However, despite the impressive bark, Loki has never hurt a fly. His protective behavior is primarily vocal, and he is a much softer guy than his big bark might suggest.
One of Loki’s favorite hobbies is shredding things. Toys, cardboard boxes, and pretty much anything he believes deserves to be destroyed can become a project. 😂 He definitely enjoys having appropriate toys and things he is allowed to tear apart.
Most importantly, Loki is a loyal, loving, goofy Australian Shepherd who wants to be part of a family. He has a big personality, a big bark, and an even bigger heart. He would thrive with someone who understands the Australian Shepherd breed, can give him the exercise and attention he deserves, and will appreciate all of the quirky little things that make Loki who he is.
Loki has a lot of love left to give, and we want his next home to be one where he can truly get the time, attention, exercise, and companionship he deserves.
Regarding other dogs - We have never had or noticed any issues with him being around other dogs. He has been around many of mine and my wife’s families dogs, and we have taken him to dog parks many times.
Regarding cats - we do not have any cats. He has been around my aunts cat and to be honest, he seemed more scared of it than anything. But he has never lived with one before.
I am assisting his owner in locating a new home for Loki per my contract. Every puppy I produce is placed on a contract that requires I be contacted in the event that they can no longer keep the dog. My puppies are not allowed to be rehomed without my knowledge or surrendered to shelters or rescues. Contact me via Facebook or you can text me at 937-602-9456 if interested in bringing Loki into your home.
