It’s National Coffee Day, so naturally we had to make this one for the dog people.

We put together a new Amazon collection:

COFFEE & CANINES | DOG COFFEE, MUGS & MORE

Inside you’ll find coffee-time favorites for both ends of the leash — dog coffee and coffee-inspired finds for pups, mugs, drinkware, and fun coffee-themed gifts for the humans who never really drink coffee alone.

Because around here, your morning coffee usually comes with a dog staring at you, supervising you, or wondering why you didn’t bring them something too.

You reach for the girth.

Your horse changes.

Or perhaps you notice it during grooming.

Picking up a foot.

Tacking.

Mounting.

Transitions.

Work under saddle.

The question is easy to make:

“Why is my horse doing this?”

A better investigation asks:

When does it happen?

What happened immediately before it?

Does movement change?

Does workload change the response?

How long does the horse take to recover?

Is the pattern behavioral, environmental, physical, or some combination?

Legend Acres is accepting a limited number of horses into our Equine Wellness Case Study using EquiCeutica Liposomal Broad-Spectrum C*D.

We are documenting:

• Observable tension
• Responses during normal handling
• Movement
• Post-work recovery
• Settling
• Focus and engagement
• Changes across normal routines

C*D does not replace horsemanship, training, veterinary care, or investigation of pain.

The purpose is measurement.

What happens with this individual horse when we track instead of assume?

Comment STUDY for participation information.

TODAY IS WORLD RABIES DAY. Rabies is preventable, and vaccination is the single most effective way to protect your pet, your family, and your community. As part of Paw-sponsibility Month, we want to make sure every pet family knows the basics: keep rabies vaccinations current with your veterinarian, know your pet's vaccination record, and if you're ever unsure of your pet's status, ask your vet at your next visit. Responsible pet ownership includes the preventive care that keeps everyone safe, not just the parts that are fun to post about. If you need a referral to a local veterinarian or want help building a wellness routine for your pet, reach out. We're happy to point you in the right direction.

Farm and working dogs have nutritional needs that most standard dog food isn't designed to meet. 🐕

Dogs that are active on a farm, whether they're herding, guarding, or just covering a lot of ground daily, burn significantly more calories than the average house pet and have higher protein and fat requirements to support that output.

If your farm dog is on the same bag of food as a dog that spends most of its time on a couch, it might be worth a second look. 👀

Fall hiking season is officially here. 🍂🐾

Before you hit the trails this month, a quick gear check goes a long way. Make sure your pup's harness fits snugly with no slipping, their leash is in good shape, and their ID tags are current.

A well-fitted harness gives you better control on uneven terrain and keeps them comfortable all hike long. Stop in and we can help you make sure everything is trail ready! 🙌

Today’s ride with Tamirra. 🐴

One of the things I love about tracking our sessions is being able to look beyond “we had a good ride” and follow what we are actually doing over time.

Today was about intentional riding, balanced-seat communication, consistency, and continuing to build the conversation between horse and rider.

The Equilab data gives me another way to document the work. Time, distance, gait distribution, and our riding history become part of the bigger picture.

At Legend Acres, this is also part of what we teach our students.

Progress in horsemanship is not measured only by how fast you move or how long you stay in the saddle.

Balance matters.
Communication matters.
Feel matters.
The horse’s response matters.
What you learn from the session matters.

Another ride in the books with Tamirra.

Want to track your own rides with Equilab?

I use Equilab to track my riding sessions and review the data alongside what I experienced during the ride.

Two things that never go out of style: supporting small and shopping local. 🙌

As the season shifts, so does the energy in your neighborhood. September is the perfect time to reconnect with the businesses that make your community feel like home. 🍁

THE VISIT STARTS BEFORE THE DOOR OPENS. Before a registered therapy team enters a school, library, healthcare setting, or community program, preparation has already started. Handlers prepare equipment. They consider the environment. They observe their animal’s body language. They protect rest and recovery. They stay prepared to advocate for their animal throughout the visit. Responsible therapy animal service includes what the public sees and what happens behind the scenes. Today, Legend’s Pet Partners Community is participating in Pet Partners’ World’s Largest Pet Walk to celebrate the human-animal bond and the teams who prepare, train, and serve.
