Needy Paws Animal Shelter Needy Paws Animal Shelter is a private, non-profit, no kill animal shelter located in Clarksville, AR We receive no government funding.

Needy Paws Animal Shelter, an extension of River Valley Humane Society, has been providing sanctuary for sick, injured, homeless and abused animals since 1997. We are proudly a no-kill shelter, working hard to place healthy, adoptable pets into loving, forever homes! Needy Paws Animal Shelter is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization. To maintain our status as a no-kill shelter, we implement managed intake. Animal intakes are by appointment only. While we are unable to provide space for every animal, we share ample resources, advice, and tips to assist pet owners who can no longer care for their pets as well as individuals who have taken in stray cats or dogs.

Everyone's a little quirky in their own way, and nobody knows that better than Pinto!

She may look like just a little dustbunny, but Pinto is definitely full of beans! She loves to play with bigger kittens, and is willing to stand her ground even to full-grown cats--though she's not quite ready to try wrestling with them yet. She does love climbing and running around as fast as her little legs will take her, even though her wonky little tail means her steering isn't the best...or maybe that's just kitten clumsiness? Either way, expect to see her to go careening past your feet!

But when playtime is finally over, Pinto loves nothing more than to snuggle onto her human's chest and purr herself to sleep...ready to recharge for the next play session!

Her coat is as vibrant as her namesake and personality, plus with the cutest little white socks on her paws to boot! She's eager to play and explore with you to keep her company.

Ready for your next big tour or Top 100 billboard hit? Well, you can't get have a full band without a Roadie!

Roadie is a charming boy with plenty to sing about and all the high-voltage energy to do it! He's always on the go, scampering back and forth across the stage. And don't think he forgot about the catering: Roadie loves his treats and wet food even more than he loves to tell you about it.

Although this active boy is rather low maintenance, he does have just a few of his own quirks. Roadie is not fond of other male cats, but he's a total ladies' man... Roadie also has a history of displaying some anxiety, so to help this perfectly patchy guy, we will often times have him in a snug shirt to deter him from pulling on his fur.

Roadie's perfect home:

Harley is a steadfast heeler-mix ready to take on the world and zip through the streets with her human by her side. She's sweet, energetic, enthusiastic--the embodiment of capital letters, really. Her playful spirit could fit right in to any family home dedicated to fun and adventure. Her sassy and sprightly personality is hard to miss and so, so easy to adore. Harley would make for the best sidecar sidekick you've ever seen, and the greatest companion for life.

Brownie isn't the bravest or boldest girl around, but she might be the cutest.

Though she's a very polite little girl, Brownie is a bit intimidated by the big world around her--but all she needs is a guiding hand to help her along! Often, that hand (or paw, rather) belongs to her sister, Pooka...but maybe it could be yours?

When she's being more daring, that's when the sass comes out in her little barks! With just a bit of coaxing, she can learn to let you know what she thinks, and be ready to join you on any adventure!

This dapper little man lives up to his title: he's a smart little fella, and loves to answer questions...questions like "when is dinner?", "what's under the couch?", and "how fast can I run?", of course.

Just like his brother, Professor Oink is as affectionate as can be, and loves to follow his human around to see what scientific marvels they're up to--and the second you pick him up, he'll start purring his approval.

River Valley Humane Society is proud to announce the launch of the Spay/Neuter Assistance Pilot Program. We are currently serving Johnson, Logan, and Franklin Counties and will be adding more areas in the next few months.

At-a-glance:

🐾 Applicants must submit proof of Johnson, Logan, or Franklin County, AR Residency via our online application system.
🐾 Applicants must submit proof of ANNUAL INCOME for their household via our online application system.
🐾 Upon approval, applicants will be invoiced for their share of the spay/neuter surgery fee as outlined on the online application. River Valley Humane Society will pay the balance of the surgery fee directly to the chosen vet.
🐾 Once paid, applicants can make their spay/neuter vet appointment at any of our participating vets listed on the application.
🐾 Approved applicants will be eligible for surgery services the month AFTER their application is approved.
🐾 River Valley Humane Society is NOT responsible for any exam fees or additional charges related to spay/neuter services.

Sprite might not be the most stand-out girl, but that doesn't make her any less delightful.

Though she can be a bit of a timid wallflower, Sprite has a bark like she's the biggest dog in the room. But give her a couple treats, and suddenly she'll be your best friend!

She can be a little sassy once she gets to know you better, but that doesn't detract from her cuteness. Whenever she can, she loves cuddling with her brother, Puck, and her favorite thing in the world is tummy rubs!
