Hello all! Hope everyone is enjoying this rain- I know I am because the good Lord knew we were getting desperate (if you own livestock, you know what I mean) THAT BEING SAID! I am implementing some weather changes over the next 2 weeks as we work around the falling rain, and any make ups that may be necessary.
MOST if not ALL of my students want their own horse one day. That is a BIG responsibility. That means there is more to having or visiting horses than just riding. Riding doesn’t even begin to add up to the other 90% of owning a large animal-ESPECIALLY a horse.
That being said- as long as it’s not ACTIVELY storming or raining within 1-2 hours of your lesson time- we will still conduct business as usual. Your child will have ground lessons to prepare them for their future with horses. We will learn proper ground walking, handling, lunging in the dry spots we find. We will learn all things tack- and go in depth to learn the knowledge of the tools they are using. That way they know WHY we use what we do- why sometimes we try new bits- and just exactly what every part of that bit does!
If dry enough we will use the parking lot area for ride time to learn basic fundamentals that they will not need an arena for. They will also learn about feed- help me feed- and learn why we feed what we feed!
I will reach out to everyone personally on their allotted days and times over the next week to discuss on a case by case basis!
Again- thank you all and we will get through these next couple weeks and be thankful for the rain that we so desperately needed!
