As part of our tech week celebrations, our tech team (and Dr. Riedinger) joined Art Uncorked at their recent fundraiser for the Lewis Clark Animal Shelter.

We painted our own pets, snuggled some adoptable kittens and had a great time!

Thank you Art Uncorked Downtown for the great time!

This week is National Veterinary Technician Week! Here at RVS we are celebrating our veterinary technicians and assistants who work tirelessly to care for our patients everyday.

Our technicians wear many hats. They're a comforter, client educator, phlebotomist, pharmacy tech, anesthetist, dental hygienist, x-ray technician, chute operator, hoof holder, and feral cat wrangler.

We simply wouldn't be here providing care for your pets without them. Please join us in celebrating this lovely group of people!

A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Stout and her assistants at Rustebakke Veterinary Service ❤️

We have been keeping them busy with horse, mule, and donkey cases lately, and we are incredibly grateful for their care and support.

From accommodating farm calls to working alongside our volunteers and law enforcement, Dr. Stout and her team have been wonderful partners in helping these animals get the care they need. These cases take time, patience, and teamwork, and we appreciate everything they bring to that effort.

To Dr. Stout and your team: thank you for showing up, making time, and helping us help animals who have already been through so much. Your work makes a difference, and we are grateful to have you in their corner.

We love a good success story! Dr. Stout recently removed Violet's right eye due to a concerning growth. The eye was sent off for analysis, which confirmed the cancer and showed clear margins. We are so happy to report that miss Violet is cancer free!

Great job Dr. Stout and the Idaho Animal Rescue Network team!

We have some wonderful news to share about Violet!

This morning, Dr. Stout at Rustebakke Veterinary Service let us know that Violet’s histopathology results are back, and they brought the news we were hoping for.

The mass on her eye was confirmed to be squamous cell carcinoma. The good news is that the pathology report indicates the cancerous tissue was completely removed during surgery, with clean margins.

Based on these results, Dr. Stout does not expect this to cause any further problems for Violet.

We are so incredibly grateful for the excellent veterinary care she received and for everyone who has supported Violet along the way. While losing an eye is never easy, this outcome is the very best we could have hoped for, and we are excited to see her continue healing and enjoying life. 🐴

Fireworks may be fun for us, but they can be scary and stressful for many pets.

Call us as soon as possible if you think your pet may benefit from calming medication.

A few extra tips:
🐾 Keep pets indoors during fireworks.
🏷️ Make sure ID tags and microchip information are up to date.
🎶 Close windows and play calming music or white noise to help mask the sounds.

Let's help make this a safe and low-stress holiday for every member of the family. ❤️🤍💙
