🍂OCTOBER Off-Leash Social Club!!🍁

Going into fall, this is my FAVORITE time to be outside with my dogs. We get a good couple months of really nice weather, so we are going to make sure we take advantage of it.

The focus of our October Social Club will be OFF LEASH obedience.

If you have wanted to be able to trust your dog more to recall and have good manners out in public, this is definitely the class for you.

My off leash clinics in the past have been very popular. And this time we are going to add basic obedience, impulse control, and hands free recall training to this months goals.

📍We will meet every Sunday at Pitts Park in Clarkesville at 6p! 🕑 Starting Sunday OCT 4th 🗓

What we will teach in this month -- hands free obedience. Long lines and/or training collars used majority of the time, and our goal is to get you comfortable dropping the leash and building trust with your dogs compliance levels.

This doesnt mean you show up off leash, this means you will be using a 30ft long line (and/or training collar) and get more comfortable dropping the lead while you communicate with your dog in a fun "hands free" way and in a controlled environment. So both you and your dog have more freedom to hang out together. (And you have both hands to drink your pumpkin spice latte 😊🎃 ☕️)

The easiest way to train recall is by letting your dog have more space to roam, sniff, run, and play while still having the security of your long line within reach.

ALL LEVELS WELCOME! And drop ins welcome also! Keep training your obedience and working on your advanced skills, or come and learn from the very beginning!

✨️Same as our Sunday September Social, the membership is $150 and gives you access to all 4 Sundays in October, or $50 to drop in to ANY Sunday

We have 2 upcoming traveling classes that will help you create a dog around town.

Wednesdays 11am-1pm Helen, GA Obedience and Lunch
This is a mixed level class combining complete beginners with advanced students for practice on leash walking, sits, downs, come when called, and focus around distractions. We will also throw in lots of confidence building and social skills training. The second hour we will manage all the dogs to eat at an outdoor restaurant while building the expectations that they all can relax. This class will run for the 4 weeks of October and total cost is $160 (must bring your own lunch money as well each week)

Thursdays 6-7pm Cornelia/Clarkesville Manners 101
Our most popular class to cover all the basics.
5 weeks, total cost of $150 due on week 1

Manners 101- 5 weeks, traveling (different location each week), covers all standard basics $140 one time fee
Tuesdays 10-11am starting 9/29

Canine Good Citizen- 6 weeks, traveling, AKC testing at the end of the course available for additional fee $165 one time fee
Thursdays 7-8pm starting 10/1

Brunch Social- new 4 week mixed level class for any dogs (even mild/moderate reactive ones) to work on obedience, distractions, and social skills in Helen. This will be a 2 hour class starting with training and ending with lunch at an outdoor seating restaurant $160 one time fee
Tuesdays 11am-1pm starting 10/6

Many of you know I postponed starting my day time class to keep an extra close eye on our older German shepherd Archer. A couple of weeks ago we discovered a mass on his spleen that was swelling but still contained, likely caused by hemangiosarcoma. He is responding well to treatments, and is now looking and feeling completely like himself again.

That being said, I have on the books Tuesdays 1-2pm starting this upcoming 3/17. That class will change locations each week and the total cost is $140. It has enough students to start but can handle a couple more.

Then I have interest in either Mondays or Fridays day time hours. If that interests you comment below, and I’ll get a roster started- will start when minimum of 4 students is reached.

It may be cold today, but spring is around the corner. It’s time to plan for classes! This year classes will be traveling, so you do need to be on the roster to know where your group will be meeting each week.

MANNERS 101 - 5 weeks- total cost $140

Tuesdays 1-2pm aiming for March 10 start

OR Thursdays 6-7pm aiming for March 12 start

This course covers the basics of polite greetings, leash walking, sits, downs, stays, manners at doorways, social skills, and self control around distractions and food. You attend with your dog and learn how to be their teacher. Multiple family dogs can attend, but each dog needs a handler. Children are welcome to attend. Cost is per dog, unlimited family members may audit. If you miss a week, you are welcome to drop into future sessions for a make up.
