The most wonderful thing happened!
THE POWER OF LOVE AND A BULLDOG🐶♥️
I took my pup Murphy to Home Depot with me, as we cruised through the isles we were stopped several times by folks asking about him and wanted to love on him. We came upon a woman and a young girl with obvious developmental disabilities. I learned the girl was 12 years old and her name was Abigail. The woman with her was Abigail’s caregiver for the past 4 years.
Abby showed great interest in Murphy and Murphy showed great interest in her. He approached her very slowly and turned his backside to her (as he was taught) she reached out and put her hand on his rear end then she gently laid her head on him. He was so still, so patient and softly loving towards her. When he felt her comfort with him, he turned his face to her and gently gave her a kiss. Abby never said a word, they loved on each other for about 20 minutes all the while a small crowd formed watching them with joy.
When it was time to go, Abby’s caregiver asked her several times to stand up, not wanting to leave Murphy she just sat there. I told Murphy “up” and he stood up, he looked at Abby watching her, waited a minute then gave her a kiss and a nudge on her legs. Abby stood up, gave Murphy hugs and kisses then turned to walk the other way. Murphy just stood there watching her walk away, making “Bulldog “ cry sounds. Abby turned to him after taking a few steps away and said “bye Murphy, I love you”.
I looked at her caregiver and she had this very shocked look on her face, then she began to cry and preceded to tell me that was the first time in 4 years that she has heard Abby say any words. Everyone in the small crowd had tear filled eyes, including my boy Murphy and myself. He KNEW she needed him, we all felt it...I witnessed a Miracle today. He has always been an amazing pup to me but today.... today he made a difference in the life of a beautiful 12 year old girl. Proud day ♥️♥️♥️
