Sparky Settling some fresh calves

09/10/2026

So a while back my friends and I put some pups on cattle the first time. My friends, Alexis and Valerie. The pups are by Alexis Jazz and Beau Beyer’s cloud. The cross is interesting in itself as Jazz is a daughter of S***t , he is a Sweet x Storm. And Cloud is also a Sweet x Storm. Now to balance that a bit Jazz’ dam is from Robin Browns lines. These pups have been so much fun and very impressive. At 8 months I made the decision to put mine on calves as he is a lot. We girls try to get together once a week to work dogs so I’ve got to see the progress of these pups. I was sending my broke calves back to Chris and wanted to start them on those calves first. They did not disappoint. I hear all to often how only a few pups in a litter turn out. For years now I see the majority of my pups turn on at 10 weeks and go on to make decent working dogs. This litter is not the exception, it is the rule. I’ll try to keep posting as the progress. Here is a video of my pup Trouble. I’ll also post Valerie’s Nix and Alexis Red Truck in the comments. Remember it’s the first look at cattle and they were 8 months. Also I added a 4 th pup in comments. His name is Chase and belongs to gabby. His first look at cattle also . 8 1/2 months ,

It’s been a long hot week here in Oklahoma. I’ve been sick with a cold. Hit me a week ago sun. Feeling some better this morning but still feel exhausted. Hoping this week goes better. Have 2 new dogs in to train and 4 more coming soon. Hoping this heat wave breaks but not looking like anytime soon. Wishing I had a place in the mountains to train in the summer.
