Had the privilege of making this custom plaque for my friend Tyler Steenveld over at the Rogers County Sheriff’s Office. Tyler is one of the good ones and it was an honor to put something together for him.
The piece features the RCSO shoulder patch, the department badge, and a Will Rogers quote — because what’s more Rogers County than that?

“Here dwelt the Parfitt-folk, in the green and ancient country, where the rivers run cold and the hills remember still…”

This one was a labor of love. A Tolkien-style fantasy map of Oklahoma, laser engraved on a live-edge basswood slab — complete with Elvish script, a hand-styled compass rose, wildlife, mountain ranges, and a custom family inscription at the bottom.

The natural crack in the wood? That was the slab, not me. Couldn’t have planned it better if I tried. Feels like it came out of the Shire.

Made for the Parfitt family. One of my favorite pieces I’ve ever done and it went as a housewarming gift for a great couple in their first home.

Introducing something new at Copperhead Ridge Wildlife Artistry — 12×12 laser engraved slate tiles. 🦌🦉

Slate is an incredible medium. The way it holds fine detail and tonal range is unlike anything I’ve worked with. These are matte clear coated for protection and ready to display or hang.
Currently available: Moose in the Mist and Great Horned Owl. Might see a bear coming soon or maybe a deer or since it’s Turkey season there might be a gobbler.

Custom orders welcome — wildlife, hunting memories, portraits, business logos. If it means something to you, let’s put it in stone.

Well this one took a while to finally get around to complete and post on here. The buck on display is a special one for me in many ways. First, it’s still my biggest buck by far that I’ve ever taken. Second, it’s the first whitetail euro I ever attempted. If one looked close, you’d be able to tell the quality on the euro isn’t phenomenal. I’ve thought about going back touching this one up now that I know what I’m doing but I always shy away from doing it. I like the reminder of the how this all began and how I’m much better at the process now.

These are available for order now, but of course you won’t have to buy one with my name on it. I can put about anything on there you may want. Call or PM if you want me to make you one for your mount.

Working on a few ideas for some slate coasters that are wildlife themed. I’ll be sure to post them when I can get around to getting them done.

I regret not capturing a higher-quality image of this piece. This memorial plaque honors a family member of my friend, featuring a deer that was harvested shortly before his passing. It will be showcased alongside the mount in my friend’s home. I am proud to have worked on this project, and pleased with the end result (despite the poor quality photo I took).

I welcome the opportunity to collaborate on similar projects, whether memorial or celebratory in nature, such as a first hunting trophy.

Here is one project I completed for my nephew using the laser engraver. He loves meteorology and legos so this concept came to me. AI brought the artwork to life though.
