Like many of you we are frustrated by the actions of our government this past week which have opened the door for over 300,000 metric tons of beef to enter the US market tariff free, from who knows where. This is a direct blow to American farms. If you are watching this as a consumer, we would encourage you to connect directly with a local producer. The product will be higher quality, and you will be supporting the US supply chain as a result. If you aren’t sure how to do that, check out . We have had some great discussions with From The Farm founder AJ Richardson about how Johnston Elevator can partner with his organization to get more Michigan producers on their platform. Sale night has finally arrived in our two most local counties. It is the culmination of months of hard work and dedication. This year we received over 200 buyer letters from 10 different Michigan counties. As is Johnston Elevator tradition, we will be adding on to over 100 exhibitor premium checks this year. Through our Clover Points Rewards program we also had the privilege of providing over 5 tons of free show feed this season. Youth agriculture has always been important to us, and we applaud everyone involved. It is not cheap and it is not easy, but the lessons learned along the way will last a lifetime. Congrats on a great season! 🍀

Improving the grounds around our facility has been a major focus of ours since 2022. Cleaning decades of blight and debris one trailer load at a time. We have a lot of plans in the works to further integrate our property into Clare’s downtown aesthetic. Stay tuned.

NOW HIRING:

Part time van truck driver wanted. Schedule is Monday through Thursday (Occasional Friday). Hours vary daily based on need, but generally start at 7:00AM finished by 3:00PM. A normal week is about 25 hours. This would be the ideal position for a retired or semi-retired individual who still would like to be in the work force without a huge time commitment. Chauffeurs license and clean driving record are required. Driving experience is preferred. Email [email protected] for details.

Of America’s 250 year history, this mill has seen over half of it; 2 World Wars, multiple conflicts, and victories. As Americans we owe it to those that went before us to accept nothing less than unconditional freedom which means pushing back against anything counter to that.
