π¨ CHILTON COUNTY β WE NEED YOU. π¨
Our shelter is OVERFLOWING.
Right now, we have 94 DOGS inside a building designed for just 25 kennels. That is nearly 4 times the number of dogs our kennel space was built to safely house.
Our rescue partners have been working incredibly hard to help us. In just 16 days, 55 dogs have left our shelter through rescue. β€οΈπΎ
Fifty-five lives given a second chance.
But here's the hard truth:
βοΈWe cannot rescue our way out of this.βοΈ
Rescue partners can help pull dogs. They can open their doors. They can transport them hundreds of miles away and find them new homes.
But if dogs continue to go missing, if unclaimed dogs continue to enter the shelter, if animals continue to have unwanted litters, and if adoptions don't keep pace with intakeβ¦
We WILL be right back here!
This isn't just a shelter problem.
This is a COMMUNITY problem β and that means our community can be part of the solution. β€οΈ
π ADOPT
If you've been thinking about adding a dog or cat to your family, **please visit the shelter.** Your adoption doesn't just give one animal a home. It creates space for us to help the next animal who walks through our doors.
πΎ RECLAIM
Is your dog missing? PLEASE CHECK THE SHELTER.
Some of the dogs here are healthy, friendly, and even already spayed or neutered. Many of them once had someone who loved them.
Don't assume someone else found your pet.
Come look. Call. Share. Check.
A few minutes of your time could bring your family member home. β€οΈ
βοΈ SPAY & NEUTER
If your pets aren't fixed, please make this a priority.
Every unexpected litter can quickly become more puppies and kittens entering an already overwhelmed shelter system.
Preventing unwanted litters is one of the most powerful things our community can do to reduce the number of animals entering our shelter.
π€ STEP UP
Maybe you can't adopt.
Maybe you can't foster.
Maybe you can't donate.
You can still help.
Share a shelter animal. Tell your neighbor to check for their missing dog. Encourage a friend to spay or neuter. Volunteer. Help someone get their pet home. Come meet the animals.
Every single one of those things matters.
Our rescue partners have shown up for us in an incredible way. 55 dogs in 16 days is an extraordinary effort. We are beyond grateful for every rescue, transporter, foster, adopter, and organization that has helped us.
But the long-term solution has to happen right here in Chilton County.
We need our community to step up.
πΎ Adopt.

Because these aren't just shelter animals.
They're our county's animals.
They're someone's missing family member.
They're someone's future best friend.
And together, we can do better for them. β€οΈπΎ
