A Goodbye, With a Very Full Heart ❤️🐾
After a lot of thought, I’ve made the difficult decision to close this page and step away from rescue.
Over the years, I’ve had the incredible privilege of fostering more than 200 puppies, along with a handful of older dogs who needed someone to believe in them. Some arrived scared, sick, forgotten, or simply unwanted. Some needed days of care, some needed weeks, and some left pieces of themselves permanently behind in my heart.
Every single one taught me something.
There were sleepless nights, emergency vet visits, messes I never thought I’d survive, tears, worry, exhaustion—and an enormous amount of laughter, puppy breath, wagging tails, and unconditional love.
Most importantly, there were happy endings. Families were made. Lives were saved. Dogs who might otherwise have disappeared into a very dark system got the chance to know what it felt like to be safe and loved.
I am incredibly grateful to everyone who followed this journey, shared posts, donated, adopted, fostered, transported, volunteered, or simply cheered these dogs on from the sidelines. Rescue is never the work of one person. It takes a village.
But I’ve reached a point in my life where I need to make room for something different.
I want to travel. I want adventure. I want time with my family. And I want to slow down and enjoy the dogs who already call my home theirs. ❤️
Walking away doesn’t mean I care any less. If anything, it means I understand even more deeply how desperately these animals need people willing to help.
So if you’ve ever thought about fostering—please do it.
If you’ve been thinking about adopting—please visit a shelter or rescue and give a dog a chance.
If you can donate, transport, volunteer, network, or simply share a post—please know that it matters.
The world can be an incredibly ugly and deadly place for unwanted companion animals. There are far more animals needing homes than there are people willing to open theirs. A kennel, a shelter, or a rescue is not the same thing as a family.
You may not be able to save them all. None of us can. But you can save one.
And to every puppy, every dog, every adopter, every foster family, and every person who was part of this journey:
Thank you for letting me be a small part of your story.
I’m closing this page, but I’m not closing my heart to animals.
I’m simply turning the page to a new chapter—one with more sunsets, more adventures, more time with the people and dogs I love, and hopefully a little more sleep. ❤️
Go adopt. Go foster. Go save a life.
And when you do, remember that somewhere out there is another dog waiting for someone to decide that their life matters.
Because it does.
With love, gratitude, and an immeasurably full heart,
Thank you. 🐾❤️
