The look of a teenage dog when the trainer asks you to “down.” 😂

(We’ve had three teenage dogs back to back for board and train. This look is becoming pretty familiar.)

A little moment that’s a pretty big deal for Miss Archie. ❤️

Being in a pen has been hard for this little girl. She’s happiest when she can be right next to me, preferably touching me, so even being a few feet away can be a lot for her.

We’ve been working on helping her feel safe and comfortable in the pen, and figuring out what works for her has been a process. Today we tried a tiny pen in the kitchen, about four feet from me, with her bed, a chew, toys, and the kibble she likes to knock over approximately 700 times.

And she laid down and went to sleep.

The goal is for her to feel relaxed and safe enough to rest. If she’d continued getting upset, we would have taken a break and adjusted things. I want this to be a place where she feels comfortable.

Four feet might not sound like much, but for Archie, today it was a big step.

We’d like to welcome Miss Nala to her two-week Board & Train!

Nala is a 9½-month-old Australian Shepherd who has LOTS of enthusiasm for life! Over the next two weeks, we’ll be working on helping her channel some of that Aussie energy and excitement into using her powers for good instead of evil. 😂

Today, Nala got to meet my goats and, for a few minutes, was pretty convinced she was officially a ranch dog!

(No goats were harmed during this introduction. My goats are incredibly dog-friendly, dog-savvy, and have absolutely no problem telling an overly enthusiastic ranch dog to mind her manners!)

Welcome to the crew, Miss Nala! It’s going to be a fun two weeks!

Kimber has left the building! This girl graduated from her two-week board and train, and she really rocked it. So proud of her and all the progress she made while she was here.

Now she’s headed back to her beautiful 40-acre horse ranch, and hopefully a little agility is in her future. Her mom is such a hard worker, and I know they’re going to make a great team.

I can’t wait to hear how she does back at home. We’re going to miss this fun girl around here!🥰🐾🥰

What do you do when the puppy gets up at 5? Grab a cup of coffee and try to convince her that snuggling is a better idea than running around….(I won the battle for a bit..lol)🐾🥰

Not me hoping they tire each other out so I can have some quiet moments this morning. Not feeling well is kicking my butt.

I think Kimber is missing her ranch dog lifestyle! 😂 Today she’s pretending she’s back home on her 40 acres, enjoying a good roll in the dirt. Some girls just aren’t meant to stay clean! 🐾💕
