🌹❤️Dapper Daxx: New VIP❤️🌹

This boy has turned into such a handsome, sweet, funny fella. We enjoyed our time together today in the back yard and he even got to meet our other B&B guests.

Daxx and Remi became bros while Kimber played hard to get.😆 I think Daxx liked her a little "too much" (Sorry boys, she is staying single!) However Kimber and Remi made sure to stay in the room for the grooming session to make sure I was doing it right. Thank goodness they did because he came out looking pretty spiffy. Daxx received his full curly Q treatment and looks even more dapper than when he arrived.

We have known him since he was just a baby and at this point he is officially a VIP member.
He will now qualify for special benefits during S-paw sessions and/or stays.

📘🍷Friday's Philosophy: Nailed It: Not So Quick 🍷📘

Being able to do dog and cat nails has become a wonderful skill to have on hand for myself and others around me. Although it does pose it's challenges, most of which include the quick along with the fact that most dogs do not like anyone touching their feet. Even though cutting quicks is a regular part of grooming, I personally will always do everything I can not to cut the quick on any animal for the sake of not wanting to hurt the animal. Unfortunately, I can never guarantee it will not happen. Black nails are nearly impossible to identify the quick. It becomes a guessing game with very few clues. White nails can be done relatively easily provided the animal does not move at the last second. **Please rest assured that if it did or does ever happen, your pet is spoiled the rest of his/her time here with treats and love.**

Some groomers cut the quick intentionally as part of their normal grooming sessions. It is believed this helps the quick shrink back and makes it easier to clip them in the future. Other groomers cut the quick if they are tending to "Show Dogs" due to set standards they must adhere to. All professionals have their own philosophies or practices they live by. It is important to know where someone stands.

I personally cannot stand when I accidentally clip a quick. Sometimes it is unavoidable but here at Hampton's Home, I want the pet to want to return and feel safe here. I do not want them to ever associate pain with being here. It does happen and your pet is fine, but I will do what I can to avoid this unpleasant situation every chance I am given.

🐾🐶Rowdy Rescue🐶🐾

Rowdy came for a little visit. He was in pretty rough shape. It would seem his owner had been sick for a while and has sadly since passed on. He and his sister will likely be up for adoption through the Circleville Area Humane Society very soon!

He is friendly, affectionate, and gentle. He also seems to be trainable. Keep an eye out on the website if you would be interested in possibly adopting this little fella. He seems young, smart, and good with other pets.

Rowdy was peeled like an onion from his layers of knotty fur. He was bathed and scrubbed in an oatmeal bath to sooth his skin, his nails were trimmed and paw pads carefully tended to the degree possible. His little feet are raw from possible allergies, urine burn, or maybe sticker burs. These were cut out of his coat along with other additional environmental ornaments. His ears were lightly cleansed but left to the vet incase of infection. He was mostly cooperative for his groom, which demonstrates his sweet disposition.

He's more or less bald right now (probably more) but won't be for long. His pretty, strawberry blonde hair will grow back soft and shiny in no time. He will need a good mom or dad to help maintain it from here on out.... could that be you?

🎊🐾VIP IN THE HOUSE🐾🎊

Remi and Kimber are here for their summer vacation. They started their stay with rotisserie chicken, getting an upgrade to their room, roaming the flower garden and yard and being lazy watching Judge Judy in the morning... yes....they like Judge Judy too.... don't judge.

Kimber found a toy she bailed off with to her old room 😂 They have graduated to having run of the house most of the day. 🙌 .

Is it bad I mildly trust them more than my own staff to roam the B&B unattended? 😂🤔 Perhaps it's because they are too big to fit through the cat door.....🐱

Either way, we are glad they are here. 🥰

🌹💡Friday's Philosophy: AI or just "I"?💡🌹

As we all know, the hottest topic and debate concerning technology right now is artificial intelligence (AI). Should we use it or should we ban it?

However you feel is completely valid. There are so many insights to both sides of the argument that we all need to navigate this together.🤲

As for this page, there is very little AI used. The intention for this page and Hampton's Home is to be and stay as authentic as possible. Everything written is original... for better or for worse lol 😆 But most importantly, none of the pictures of the actual grooming are altered. The only items on grooming pictures where AI is used are backgrounds. It is fun to place our guests in relaxing and esthetic scenery. However, nothing on the animals themselves are changed.... whether showing the good, the bad, or the ugly.... (meaning the haircut, not the animal.😆) Mistakes are apparent in the pictures, but that is real life and that is ok. Authenticity can make some people shy away but it also builds a strong foundation of trust with others.

AI is also used on this page to memorialize certain circumstances in funny or creative ways. For instance, sometimes cartoons are made of guests to tell a sweet or funny story about them in sequence or celebrate their wins, such as overcoming shelter life.

Friday's philosophy is that AI is acceptable for Hampton's Home to use as the "A" can help achieve dynamics to add fun into the picture(pun intended) otherwise unavailable. Still... we believe that good old fashioned "I" (meaning just using your own brain and words) is more personal, powerful, and authentic. That is what we strive for more than anything here at the B&B... not perfection but building connections and trust with our followers, guests, and supporters🌹
